The Unofficial Jedi's Guide to the YJCCG Galaxy is THE card strategy reference for Decipher's Young Jedi CCG. Starting with the first expansion, 'The Menace of Darth Maul', each individual card will be discussed until it can be discussed no further. Nevertheless, if I have missed something, email me at jinnandtonic@yahoo.com.au, and I will update it accordingly.

jinnandtonic's Grades:

Economy: B
Reasonably economical, but nothing to write Decipher about [chuckle]. Panaka's Blaster supplies our intrepid guard with oo? (Power +2 and a Destiny ? draw) in battle, or any other character with a Destiny draw in battle. The only thing that brings this down is the Destiny of 4, which while okay is average in comparison with the ultra-economical Blaster Rifle.

Decipher: A
Not too many ways to go wrong here. Everything appears in order, and the image is alright. It is a bit annoying that this weapon is similar to many other personalised weapon, but hey, we can live it. At least thay didn't put duplicate characters in, eh? Eh?

Overall Usefulness: B-
Not a particularly useful card, unless of course you are using multiple copies of Panaka in your deck. Just remember that an ordinary Blaster Rifle can provide you with a higher Destiny for your deck, while not giving as much of a bonus of Panaka. Still there are few themes you can use this card in....luckily....

FLAVOR TEXT: Captain Panaka's blaster has saved Queen Amidala's life many times.

SPECIFIC INTERACTING CARDS:
------------------------------------------------

Captain Panaka, Protector of the Queen
(#6, Menace of Darth Maul, Rare, Blue-Dot)
- Panaka's Blaster is pretty standard for a personalised weapon, providing Power +2 to Panaka along with a Destiny draw. You won't want to use this card in a deck without a few copies of Panaka, and even then you will have to work out the right combination of Blaster Rifles and copies of Panaka's Blaster.

-------------------
IN BRIEF:
-------------------

Captain Panaka's Blaster is an okay card for a theme deck, but is does not stand up well when compared to the trusty Blaster Rifle. It all depends on what you think will help you more in a deck: a weapon that gives Panaka a Power bonus of +2 greater than standard, or a Destiny of 6. In most cases, you will settle for the Destiny of 6. Nevertheless, it a nice card for a theme deck, but you have to watch that Destiny (Panaka only has a Destiny of 2, remember!). The extra Destiny of the Blaster Rifle makes it a much more attractive proposition. Though not as cool.

-------------------------------
GENERAL PLAY TIPS:
-------------------------------

* So how many copies of Panaka's Blaster Rifle should you put in your deck? Because you are using multiple copies of Panaka / Protector of the Queen (who has a rather miserable Destiny of 2) you will want to 'make up for it' elsewhere (e.g. in your weapons category). So Blaster Rifles are pretty tempting. But what about your cool Royal theme? Or your cool Protect the Queen theme? Unless you are using more than 3 copies of Panaka in yor deck, I would suggest that you *don't* use the personalised weapon, and stick to those Blaster Rifle. Don't give into hate. Or something. Of course, if you are building the deck for fun, rather than for it to be competitive, by all means, shove multiples of this card in for Panaka!

ADDITIONS:
------------------

Up to you. Think of anything else cool about this card, or combos that you have used to great effect? What about a particular game in which this card made you win? Send anything like that to jinnandtonic@yahoo.com.au and I'll add it here. Han Solo + Big Gun vs. Panaka + Big Gun? I know who I would bet on. Never tell me the odds.
