The Unofficial Jedi's Guide to the YJCCG Galaxy is THE card strategy reference for Decipher's Young Jedi CCG. Starting with the first expansion, 'The Menace of Darth Maul', each individual card will be discussed until it can be discussed no further. Nevertheless, if I have missed something, email me at jinnandtonic@angelfire.com, and I will update it accordingly.

jinnandtonic's Grades:

Economy: F
No thankyou. Obi-Wan / Jedi Padawan deploys for 6, has a paltry Power of 3 and location bonuses of Power +2 at all Tatooine sites. With a truly abysmal Damage of 6, this card also has a Destiny of 1, just to add to the pain of including it in your deck. Anyont thinking of putting this card in their deck would is advised to think again, and put in a Jawa or an Ithorian or *something* in instead of it.

Decipher: F
Sorry, but Decipher certainly had it coming in this case. You'd think they would have at least made this card *usable*. But they didn't. I don't think it is fair that someone training to become a Jedi is weaker than an Ishi Tib / Warrior. The Damage is unjustifiably high, and the Deploy 6 for a Power of only 3 is ridiculous. Just think: in the same turn, you could have deployed three Jawas, which would have more Power on Tatooine and higher Destiny. Groan.

Overall Usefulness: F
Useless. I would personally prefer Jawas. I don't know what is worse, drawing a Destiny of 1, or getting socked for 6 Damage when this Obi-Wan in disguise gets knocked over by a Battle Droid. Bah.

The same text below from the very first entry, #1 Obi-Wan Kenobi, Young Jedi.

Obi-Wan Kenobi's Lightsaber
(#34, Menace of Darth Maul, Rare, Orange-Dot)
- This stackable weapon is currently the weapon for Obi-Wan Kenobi. Giving him a power bonus of +2 and a ? destiny draw, this lightsaber makes the jedi padawan a slightly more formidable opponent. Just don't expect any high Destiny draws.

Anakin Skywalker, Meet Obi-Wan Kenobi
(#47, Menace of Darth Maul, Uncommon, Yellow-Dot)
- This battle card allows Anakin and Obi-Wan to fight together in a battle plan. I don't know about everyone else, but I am DYING for a card that allows Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn to fight together. Not a bad combo, that.

I Have A Bad Feeling About This
(#56, Menace of Darth Maul, Uncommon, Yellow-Dot)
- This battle card is one of the cooler ones in the game thus far. In a battle plan, if Obi-Wan is defeated, this card allows you to return Obi and his weapon back to your hand and not incur any damage. Unlike a lot of battle cards that have similar versions for both Light and Dark sides (e.g. Security Volunteers = In Complete Control), this card is 'unique'. Lets hope it stays that way.

IN BRIEF:
-------------------

Obi-Wan Kenobi / Jedi Padawan is something of a mistake. Good idea for a card, but far too weak and useless. Quite frankly, I don't think I would use this card in any deck. That is all I can be bothered saying.

-------------------------------
GENERAL PLAY TIPS:
-------------------------------

I considered getting the play tips from #1 Obi-Wan Kenobi, Young Jedi, but they don't really apply. I can only offer one play tip for this card: don't use it. Really, a Jawa with some Weapon card support will probably serve you much better than this card.

* Addition (26/7/99): Boothby notes that I neglected to mention the Force Quotient (FQ) of this card. Take note that it is a miserable 4, and that takes the cake as the worst FQ value in the game. How grand.

ADDITIONS:

Up to you. Think of anything else cool about his card, or combos that you have used to great effect? What about a particular game in which this card made you win? Send anything like that to jinnandtonic@angelfire.com and I'll add it here. I doubt it though. How about sending some info on a game that this card made you lose?
