The Unofficial Jedi's Guide to the YJCCG Galaxy is THE card strategy reference for Decipher's Young Jedi CCG. Starting with the first expansion, 'The Menace of Darth Maul', each individual card will be discussed until it can be discussed no further. Nevertheless, if I have missed something, email me at jinnandtonic@angelfire.com, and I will update it accordingly.

jinnandtonic's Grades:

Economy: B
Another decent universal Gungan, and another B. Gungan Warrior / Infantry deploys for 2 and has Power 2, Damage 1 and a location bonus of Power +2 at Naboo / Theed Palace. An average Destiny of 3, however, is a bit of a nuisance.

Decipher: B+
The location bonus of Power +2 at Naboo / Theed Palace is a little strange, but apart from that this card is fine. I suppose that this can be explained by saying that the Gungan Warrior / Infantry card represents either a member of the Gungan army celebrating at the end of the movie, or a Gungan trained to *attack* Theed Palace. Although there was nothing of the latter in the movie, relations were pretty frosty between the Gungans and the Naboo land-dwellers, so this is not impossible.

Overall Usefulness: B
The Gungan card to use in your Gungan decks at present. Gungan Warrior / Infantry is the only <>Gungan with it's location bonuses in the right place for a Light assault on Naboo. Might be worth including in a variety of Light decks to help out on Naboo.

FLAVOR TEXT: In contrast to the more peaceful people of Naboo, Gungans have a strong warrior tradition.

SPECIFIC INTERACTING CARDS:
------------------------------------------------

Some sort of specific interacting cards here. Repeated in all the Gungan entries.

<>Electropole
(#39, Menace of Darth Maul, Common, Orange-Dot)
- This weappon card gives a Power bonus of +2 and a Destiny ? Draw to any <> Gungan in battle, or a Destiny ? Draw to any other character. Although it only has a Destiny of 3, it is still a handy card in any Gungan themed deck. I probably prefer the next weapon card for Gungans, however.

<>Kaadu
(#41, Menace of Darth Maul, Common, Orange-Dot)
- My fave Gungan weapon, giving a Power bonus of +1 and a Destiny ? Draw to any Gungan in battle. While it doesn't allow for non-Gungan characters, it has a slightly higher Destiny (4) than the Electropole. This can also be helped by using as many Gungans as possible in the blue-dot and green-dot categories, and heres hoping a red-dot universal Gungan is released soon. (Hint: How about a Gungan Division, ala Battle Droid Squad? Won't use weapons but is still cool!)

Gungan Curiosity
(#54, Menace of Darth Maul, Common, Yellow-Dot)
- Anyone who reads everything on the site know how much this card annoys me. Maybe it is just my YJCCG ineptitude, but anyway...this Battle card allows any three <>Gungan characters to fight together in battle. I would include 1-2 in a Gungan deck, but that is pushing it, I feel. If I draw one more Gungan Curiosity when I *need* a The Negotiations Were Short, I'll spew. And so will you.

-------------------
IN BRIEF:
-------------------

This character currently has the privileged position of being the best <>Gungan for the job, and will retain this position until another Light Naboo site is released. Not the best card in the set by any means (not even the best <> card) but could form the basis for a nice Gungan/Naboo Strategy. The problem is figuring out how many you can afford to put in (you don't want to many Destiny 3 cards in your deck if you can help it).

-------------------------------
GENERAL PLAY TIPS:
-------------------------------

* Okay, what about the Gungan deck? Right now? This card is *the* card for your Gungan-themed deck. Green-dot would feature Gungan Warrior / Infantry (maybe 10 copies if you're game), blue would feature Gungan Official / Bureaucrats and Jar Jar Binks / Gungan Chuba Thief, and maybe Boss Nass / Leader of the Gungans. Yellow-dot would have Gungan Curiosity (2-4 copies, and that is pushing it) and The Negotiations Were Short (because you have to). Orange is an easy category, with a nice combination of Blaster Rifles, Kaadu and Electropoles the way to go. The real problem area for this kind of deck is the red-dot category. I think one of the best bets is Ishi Tib / Warrior, to help you on Tatooine, or maybe a couple of Jedi (or both).

* The Force Quotient (FQ, like IQ) of <>Gungan Warrior / Infantry is 5. Which is pretty ordinary, the same as <>Gungan Guard, <>Jawa / Thief, <>Royal Guard / Veteran and several others.

Style tips:

- This card is a phony. It is currently enjoying it's privileged position as the Gungan card of choice, but that won't last long. When the new expansions come out, don't use this card for a while. It's head is big enough as it is.

------------------
ADDITIONS:
------------------

Up to you. Think of anything else cool about his card, or combos that you have used to great effect? What about a particular game in which this card made you win? Send anything like that to jinnandtonic@angelfire.com and I'll add it here. What if the Gungans joined forces with the Trade Federation in Episode I? I think that would have made things interesting.
