The Unofficial Jedi's Guide to the YJCCG Galaxy is THE card strategy reference for Decipher's Young Jedi CCG. Starting with the first expansion, 'The Menace of Darth Maul', each individual card will be discussed until it can be discussed no further. Nevertheless, if I have missed something, email me at jinnandtonic@angelfire.com, and I will update it accordingly.
jinnandtonic's Grades:
Economy: B-
Mas Amedda/Vice Chancellor is reasonably economical, with Power 3 for 3 Deploy, and a Destiny of 4. He will become a much more useful card when the Light version of Coruscant/Galactic Senate is released, but at the moment, he effectively receives no location bonuses. Will be a key card in a Coruscant-themed deck in future expansions, but for now, he just a weak version of Yoda/Jedi Master.
Decipher: B
I am not sure why, but I was under the impression that Mas Amedda/Vice Chancellor was a Dark character. Anyways, I don't have a problem with the Power, location bonuses or Destiny, but I am not a great fan of the image. A face-on shot would have been nice, instead of side-on with a stupid look on his face. Maybe Decipher couldn't do any better, but surely there was some publicity shots (or something) of this character that could have been used.
Overall Usefulness: C+
Not an overly useful card at the moment. Why? Because you could include a Ishi Tib/Warrior or a Naboo Officer/Battle Planner for the same Deploy and nearly the same Destiny and have location bonuses to work with. This is a similar card to Padme Naberrie/Handmaiden in that respect: unless you are hellbent on using the card, or have a cool theme that you want to stick to, Mas Amedda/Vice Chancellor will be overlooked for now... at least until the next expansion is released, anyway.

IN BRIEF:

Mas Amedda/Vice Chancellor suffers from your classic case of major-site-at-which-he-gets-location-bonuses-at-is-not-out-yeteritis. Unlike Padme Naberrie/Handmaiden, there aren't any real interesting themes you can slot him into at present which warrant his inclusion, so at the moment, he is not a card that many people will be using in their Light decks. Maybe in the future, there will be a 'Valorum and Mas Amedda fight together' card, but I won't be holding my breath. An effective card, but YJCCG has so many effective cards that this one gets lost in the commotion. For now, anyway.

GENERAL PLAY TIPS:

* Trivia buffs take notice: so far all the Coruscant-based Light characters have different dot-colors! (e.g. Mace Windu/Jedi Master has red, Yoda/Jedi Master has blue, and Mas Amedda/Vice Chancellor has green. This is good thing if you have the resources to build a light Coruscant-themed deck, although hardly anyone has 10 of each character. Still, it is nice: Decipher should do this more often. I am dearly hoping that Ki-Adi-Mundi will be green-dot, so that my Jedi Council Leaders deck can feature ten each of Mace, Yoda and Ki-Adi. I've got 2 of Yoda and 2 of Mace, so I'm getting there :)
* The Force Quotient (FQ, like IQ) of Mas Amedda/Vice Chancellor is 7. Okay, but not fantastic, the same as Qui-Gon Jinn/Jedi Master, Jar Jar Binks/Gungan Chuba Thief, and R2-D2/Anakin's Creation, among others.
* Silly theme of today: Ears a Good Deck! Scraping the bottom of the barrel once more, this theme revolves around Light characters who have something in common with Dumbo! (I would just like to point out at this stage that Mas Amedda even has tusks!) Throw in Mas Amedda, Jar Jar, Gungans and Yoda and you have a nicely bizarre deck theme. Just don't ask me what to do about the red-dot category, and don't start drawing ears on your Jedi.
* Style tips:
- Don't use Mas Amedda. Ever.
- A Cross CCG Theme deck: The Weird Blue Aliens. Starring Mas Amedda/Vice Chancellor from YJCCG and a host of those blue fat musical aliens from Return of the Jedi and SWCCG (I can't remember what they are called, nor could I be bothered finding out.) Someone high up in the Star Wars franchise obviously has a fetish for blue aliens with strange ears.
