The Unofficial Jedi's Guide to the YJCCG Galaxy is THE card strategy reference for Decipher's Young Jedi CCG. Starting with the first expansion, 'The Menace of Darth Maul', each individual card will be discussed until it can be discussed no further. Nevertheless, if I have missed something, email me at jinnandtonic@angelfire.com, and I will update it accordingly.

jinnandtonic's Grades:

Economy: B
- Five deploy for five power is pretty standard, but good. Location bonuses not very large, but one at each of the Tatooine sites is good value. Personalised lightsaber deploys for free.

Decipher: B-
- I am not too sure about the location bonuses (perhaps too many), and the card image could be a hell of a lot better. Considering the role he has yet to play in the Star Wars saga, perhaps his damage should be higher. Apart from that, good job.

Overall Usefulness: A-
- Would be A, but there may be a slightly better version of Obi-Wan to come yet.

FLAVOR TEXT: "Master Yoda says I should be mindful of the future..." - Obi-Wan Kenobi

------------------------------------------------
SPECIFIC INTERACTING CARDS:
------------------------------------------------

Obi-Wan Kenobi's Lightsaber
(#34, Menace of Darth Maul, Rare, Orange-Dot)
- This stackable weapon is currently the weapon for Obi-Wan Kenobi. Giving him a power bonus of +2 and a ? destiny draw, this lightsaber makes the young jedi a highly formidable opponent.

Anakin Skywalker, Meet Obi-Wan Kenobi
(#47, Menace of Darth Maul, Uncommon, Yellow-Dot)
- This battle card allows Anakin and Obi-Wan to fight together in a battle plan. I don't know about everyone else, but I am DYING for a card that allows Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn to fight together. Not a bad combo, that.

I Have A Bad Feeling About This
(#56, Menace of Darth Maul, Uncommon, Yellow-Dot)
- This battle card is one of the cooler ones in the game thus far. In a battle plan, if Obi-Wan is defeated, this card allows you to return Obi and his weapon back to your hand and not incur any damage. Unlike a lot of battle cards that have similar versions for both Light and Dark sides (e.g. Security Volunteers = In Complete Control), this card is 'unique'. Lets hope it stays that way.

-------------------
IN BRIEF:
-------------------

Well along with the 'good' version of Darth Maul, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Young Jedi is your YJCCG bread and butter. It doesn't matter what Light deck you are playing, an Obi-Wan, YJ is something you can probably do with at least one of. In terms of a main, he has an advantage over Qui-Gon Jinn in that he has his own weapon. Because of this, Obi-Wan is arguably a stronger character than Qui-Gon. (At least until the next expansion release!).His destiny is also great for a character as strong as he is (destiny of 3).

-------------------------------
GENERAL PLAY TIPS:
-------------------------------

I am not too keen on the 'Character A fights with Character B Battle cards'. Not only are they incredibly specific, but I reckon that a good weapon will do the trick more efficiently. 'Anakin Skywalker, Meet Obi-Wan Kenobi' is probably one of the better ones however, because the Anakin Skywalker has a destiny ? draw for his power. Maybe you'll draw another Obi with that.

* Against Darth Maul, Sith Apprentice: It is best if you are not on Tatooine, due to the power bonuses of Maul. Until the next expansion at least, if Obi-Wan, YJ has HIS lightsaber and Darth Maul, SA has the Sith Lightsaber on Coruscant or Naboo, their power levels are equal (7) before destiny is drawn. Depending on how you have constructed your deck, you should be fairly confident. Just hope that your opponent does not have the At Last We Will Have Our Revenge battle card in their hand when you battle. Cards like 'The Negotiations Were Short' will make this battle a little easier.

* Make use of Obi-Wan, YJ's high base power rating of 5. Because he does not rely on locations for most of his power, it is in your best interest to use him in any Light deck. Dark decks rely on Tatooine, so on Naboo and Coruscant he will cause plenty of problems for your opponent.

* Always deploy Obi-Wan with a weapon, when you can, especially early in the game. Picture this, second turn of the game, when you have Obi-Wan Kenobi, YJ out at Tatooine: Desert Landing Site:

Dark Side plays: Battle Droid (any of 'em), Battle Droid Blaster Rifle, In Complete Control and battles.

Result: You lose the planet, an Obi-Wan and 5 damage.

This is obvious, but DON'T lose a planet like this. It is dumb, dumb, dumb.

* Style tip: Use the 'The Negotiations Were Short' battle card with Obi-Wan, YJ. This card gives a +3 power bonus to the first character in your battle plan. Sure, it works just fine with anyone, but this card was MADE for Obi. It also solves the above problem.

* Style tip: I know you can lose from following this tip, but what the heck. Lightsabers only for your Jedi, eh? Imagine: Obi-Wan Kenobi whacking Maul with an Electopole? No, thanks. Don't follow this tip if you want to win, but.

ADDITIONS:

Up to you. Think of anything else cool about his card, or combos that you have used to great effect? What about a particular game in which this card made you win? Send anything like that to jinnandtonic@angelfire.com and I'll add it here.
