Big Wolf On Fox Family by Allstetter

Think of Big Wolf on Campus as Fox Family Channel's answer to Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The half-hour series, which premieres on Friday, April 2 at 5:30 p.m. (ET/PT), will offer "quirky humor and fast-paced action," according to the network.

Brandon Quinn stars as Tommy Dawkins, a Pleasantville High School senior and football captain who is mysteriously bitten by a werewolf. He must now not only contend with weird cravings and new physical challenges, but constantly save Pleasantville from a revolving door of maniacal supernatural freakshows.

As Tommy grapples with his newfound condition, he befriends Dungeons & Dragons-meister Merton Dingle (played by Danny Smith), perhaps the most put- upon, weirdest person in the history of Pleasantville. When he identifies Tommy's lycanthropic status, the two become unlikely pals. Merton helps Tommy cope with his scary status and watches his own social standing rise.

None of the supporting cast knows Tommy's secret. Members include: The beautiful Stacey Hanson (played by Rachelle Lefevre), who Tommy has finally started to date.

Tommy's mother Sally (played by Jane Wheeler), who has fashioned herself as Pleasantville's ace roving television reporter. Tommy's father Bob (played by Allan Fawcett), the town's dedicated mayor. Tommy's brother Dean (played by Jack Mosshammer), who delivers suspiciously familiar advice in sound bites. Merton's younger sister Becky (played by Natalie Vansier), who's on a popularity quest and has a huge crush on Tommy. And twin bully brothers Tim (played by Rob DeLeeuw) and Travis (played by Dom DiRosa), also known as TNT, who have become committed to proving that a werewolf exists.

Big Wolf on Campus, produced by Telescene Film Group, will air Fridays from 5:30-6 p.m. (ET/PT), and, starting April 17, on Saturdays from 11:30 p.m.-midnight.

The series was created by Peter Knight and Christopher Biggs. Executive producers are Lance H. Robbins, Robin Spry, Paul Painter, Michael Yudin and Peter Pearson. Producer is Robert Baylis.
