Unkempt dry creek bed
wild vines stretch grasses tangle
birch rests across banks
Quick dive to river
eagle plunges one clean splash
talons get the fish
Daughter brings fresh trout
tucks in hot lemon butter
sizzles sing in pan
Parched plants thirsty plea
old well’s abundance gives out
sputters mud goes dry
