What's the word with El Chupamafia you ask? Here's the quick rundown. We played a show (party) last friday in Davis with local bands Round 18 and Serial Carpens. Show went great, thanks to Kai for hooking it up. New bari sax player is emminent (her name is Hillary). Isaac has become an active member of the band once again (bio coming soon). Delhamsta is rocking with us part time again. We're going into the studio soon to record our next album. It should include a bunch of new songs never before heard. So keep checking here and your local record stores. There might be a show with Pollen and Whorange in Stockton on October 15th (sunday). We're still looking for a venue to hold the show as of yet. If you haven't seen the band Pollen yet, you're missing out. They are awesome. This will be their third time playing Stockton and we need to let them know to keep coming back. Our best wishes go out to our friends in Luckie Strike. While recently on tour, their van, trailer, equipment, merchandise, and personal effects were stolen. Please go to their website and find out how you can help them get back to making awesome music.

Ok, lots of pictures from the tour are up now, so check out the photos section for those. Unfortunately, the party we were supposed to play in Davis on the 16th got cancelled, but it should be rescheduled for the 29th. more info about that as it becomes available. Don't forget to sign the guestbook and check out our songs on MP3.com.

Here's the raw deal so you can go look for some steel. Brett is getting married and he gets his rythmes from a grabbag. Dave is in Idaho exploring literature and the wilderness. Will is working; probably trying to pay off some debts cause we all spent way too much money on this last tour. Andy is awol is San Louis Obispo. I started my new job. Derek is giving up on his car. What about the band as a whole? We're keeping it on the downlow right now. There are rumors circulating that we might be getting a bari sax player. We neither confirm nor deny these allegations. One last note: There were two references to old skool rap songs within this news brief. If you can correctly identify the two references and name the songs and artists for which they belong to, you'll win a free t-shirt and cd. Your can send your answers to monkaddict@aol.com. And no brett, you can't enter the contest. Cheers!

First off, look down there and see that Mike spells like a 3 year old... and 3 year olds do not spell very well. New personal news for me (I know you all care about big news in my life) that Mike hasn't posted for one reason or the other, perhaps he desires it to be a secret, so if you want to know what it is, ask him. Other than that, thanks to everyone around the country who came out to see us. Hope to see you all again soon. I took many pictures, so as soon as I get my life back in order I'll work on getting them developed and up on the site. Travelling is excellent.

Droping some more news for yall on the web. first off, we are now back to back champions of the coveted 'Sing and Swing' softball ball crown. The mafia with the assistance of kevin from the band pollen pulled off an unbelievable late inning surge to defeat the team composed of Dr. Rocket and The Moon Patrol, the bass player for kung fu chicken and the guitarist and bassist for pollen. Thanks to all the bands and people that made the 'Sing and Swing' possible. The show was awesome as well. The mafia welcomed isaac and delhmasta back into the folds for this show and from what I hear, it made a difference. And as always, Pollen rocked. Kung Fu Chicken was interesting assortment of stuffed animals, capes, and chicanery. I guess they get really bored down in so cal and come up with crazy ways to entertain people. Code Name Rocky came all the way from Anaheim and Dr. Rocket and The Moon Patrol closed out the show part of the second annual 'Sing and Swing'. Anyways, the mafia plans on beginning recording on a new album within the next couple months. Look for many new songs to be unleahsed over the next couple of weeks. And for all those wrestling fans, i got two words for ya.......Chupa Este!

It's time for another installment of 'As The Mafia Turns.' Well, we're in Nevada right now staying at will's uncle's house. We drove 30 hours to get here and we play a show tomorrow in Carson City. Then we make our triumphant return to good 'ol stockton on saturday to participate in the second annual 'Sing and Swing' with Pushover, Kung-Fu Chicken and our tour compadre's Dr.Rocket and The Moon Patrol. Anyways, I gotta go, Disorderlies the movie is on. Take care all in internet land.

Hey all! I'm typing this out on an internet station at a mall in phoenix. We had an ok show in van nuys and a good show in mesa at the nile. The show in tempe was kinda weak because the place was a dive and they had no p.a. but dr.rocket and the moon patrol finally showed up after having numerous van related problems. We're going to the grand canyon tomorrow. We're pretty stoked about that. We've managed to keep ourselves entertained on our days off. Also, walkie talkies make a tour fun. Derek and Dave are watching a michael jordan imax movie right now that the rest of us didn't want to see. anyways, we're gonna probably be playing shows in wyoming and michigan now. rock on! and i'm outti.

Thanks to everyone who came out to our CD release show on Wednesday! Lots of old faces, and new faces too, and even out of town faces. All are always good to see. So anyways, hope you all enjoyed the show, and hope we did alright, cuz that's our last time around here before we head out into the great wide open. That's word, word black.

Well, the CDs are out now, and we have them in our grubby little hands. You can order them on here, get them at our shows, or find them in your local music store (well, OUR local music stores). So anyways, CD release show here in Stockton on the 28th, and of course they'll be on sale everywhere we going during the summer. Thanks to everyone for all the help and support lately! Keep watching the sky.

Bad news folks. Something went awry with the inserts for the cd and they were recalled, yes recalled! Doesn't that suck. Hopefully, we won't have to pay another 75 bucks to fix the artwork. Sorry about that. I'll put more info on the site as it becomes available.

Hey all, just wanted to drop some news. The show in Ashland went well and we had fun. Thanks to Amber for hooking us up again. Thanks to The Scaries for letting us use their bass amp. The Scaries are on the west coast touring right now. Go See them!! They rock and they are really nice. Even though the Scaries van broke down, they still managed to make the show. Props to them. Also, thanks to jason b. (of nuclear rabbit fame) for fillin in on guitar for us and to jay for rockin with us again.. We didn't get the cd's in time for the show in Ashland which kinda sucked. Sorry to the people who wanted to buy them, blame Fed Ex!!! Anyways, the cd's should be here today and should be for sale on the website on monday. Tour in one month. peace .

Greetings program. Quick note to say that the shows page is now updated, including the first shreds of confirmed shows for our tour this summer. Thanks to everyone who's been so supportive of us lately. This includes fans, venues, local townspeople, promoters, hooligans, etc. For those interested, we should have our CDs back really really soon. Looks like our first "CD release show" is gonna end up being in Oregon, so all you folks in Oregon start beating up kids and taking their lunch money. But fear not, no sales tax! end transmission.

Hey, Hey, Hey, greetings all. The shows we played this weekend were great. The davis show was cool. We got to play in the middle of a street and even had a little kid dance to our music (he was rewarded with poopa troopas). The skate park show was a lot bigger than we expected. The show was good and thanks to the cremasters of disaster (not sure if spelling is right) for allowing us to play at 3:50. Art on 10th is a really cool show venue in Modesto. It's great to see a place like that where kids can go and see live music and such. We sent away the cd to be pressed. Should be done in two weeks. There should be some at Replay Records in Stockton. More dates for the tour are being confirmed as well. Take care all. And most importantly, support local music. out.

Happy Cinco De Mayo all. Just wanted to announce the return of Isaac The Interstellar back to the folds of the mafia machine. He's been off defended the galaxy against all who would oppose him (i.e. away at school). Now the wacky Circus De Mafia becomes even crazier. just rock.

Ramma lamma, brothers and sisters. April showers bring May flowers, and may flowers bring $400 in car repairs. boo. anyways, thanks to the good people of Ashland for rocking along with us, you guys/girls made it a fun and a half time, despite the lack of Hansen's functional beverages in your state. Special thanks to Amber for treating us like rock stars. On to the more news. Looks like we will be playing our first Modesto show (can you believe we've never played there?!?!) the middle of this month, and it ought to be good. Things are going well with the CD, and right now we're looking to have it by the end of the month/early next month. Just rock.

04/17/00

ok, it's been a while, so here's some news. Lots of shows coming up soon, check out the shows page for more details. Talks are on for a Mafia tour across the country this summer, hopefully there'll be more details on that soon. Shows in Davis and Sunnyvale both went well, and thanks to everyone who saw us. Sorry, I know a lot of this so called news is somewhat vague right now, but hopefully things will be more specific soon. We're looking forward to our first out of state show (hopefully two) at the end of this month. Hope to see you all at the shows, and feel free to tell us what a bunch of sucka punks we are!

04/6/00

The show in sunnyvale went well. We think we put on a pretty good show. Kudos to all those who were there. Props to sneaky creekians, ignition (dug the aaliyah cover-that aint the correct spelling I know!). Sorry to the fellas of HBA. We had to leave early do to the fact that some of the band members had to be up early for work and we only took one vehicle. But I'm sure they rocked. We hope to play in sunnyvale again soon. We have some shows in davis that we are looking forward to as well as a show with the rockinest band around-Dr.Rocket and the moon patrol. Keep checking the site for more shows. CD coming soon!!!
