Hi! You have entered the Penguin page! To find out
more about my fave animals,Penguins, read on!
All penguins live below the equator. Some live in warm places,
but most live in Antarctica where temperature often drops below 0 dergrees
celcius. The largest type of penguin is the emperor penguin. It is
more than 91.4cm tall and weighs about 36.3 kg. The smallest is the little
blue penguin which is only about 35.6cm tall and weighs around 907gm.
Penguins gather in very large groups. Where they lay there eggs. This
area is called a rookery. They go to their rookery every year. Sometimes
there can be up to a million or more penguins in a single rookery!!
Some penguins lay their eggs in nest made out of stones while others
carry theirs about on their feet!! Mothers and fathers take turns sitting
on their eggs. A penguins eggs do not all hatch at the same time. Sometimes
they hatch a day or 2 apart! once hatched the baby penguins stay very close
to there parents. Penguin feathers are waterproof. They protect the
penguins from the cold ocean water. That is it for now
but come back later to find out more about penguins!!
