This section talks about the special effects used in all 4 Phantasm films! I'll try to update this section with more special effects!
-Mike is actualy jumping on a trampoline, enhanced by trick photography when he is falling though the Red Planet.
-In the Red Planet, the dwarves in the background are actualy cardboard cutouts.
-Dressed up Children played the dwarves mostly in the Red Planet.
-The outstretching planes in The Red Planet are really the sloping side of a dam enhanced by trick photography.
-With the help of a entymologist, Don Coscarelli settled for a store-bought model bug.
PHANTASM II "THE BALL IS BACK!"
-A female double was used when the film continues from Phantasm.
-The hands to open the peephole are not the hands of Kennith Tiger, they're a crew persons hands.
-The brass nameplates in the mausoleum are the names of crew members on Phantasm II.
-A harness crane was used when The Tall Man throws Liz.
-Matte paintings were used in the sphere scenes.
-When The Tall Man gets sphered, it was filmed in reverse.
-When The Tall Man's skin was peeling on his face that was really chicken skin.
PHANTASM III "LORD OF THE DEAD!"
-You can tell that Liz's decapitated head is obviously a redressed head.
-In some scenes, the spheres were colored dark crome, instead of silver-reflective chrome.
PHANTASM IV "OBLIVION"
-All the spacegates in the desert were computer-copied composites.
