Gerry Ouellette is a successful published author and photographer in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. He has long used poetry to share thoughts with readers and has been a proactive member of the community. Mr. Ouellette has served in a position with the Sault Ste. Marie Horse and Pony

Inc., contributed as a writer for the Calabrians Multicultural World Society Inc. and has been largely involved with the Cross on the Hill project since the mid 1990s.
Since Mr. Ouellette's initial assistance with laying sod at the site of the Cross on the Hill, he has come to make invaluable friendships with many citizens committed to principles of egalitarianism, social justice and community involvement . Mr. Ouellette credits many persons throughout his personal journey who were and are very much of assistance, including Skipper F. Manzzutti (1910-2000), George Majic, who passed away just before the Official Presentation of the Community Development Award for the Cross Site, Theresa Mary Lavergne and published author and artist Tish Sass.
Gerry Ouellette's two most recent published works include Glorious Arms of Love (1999), a collection of wonderful poetry and photography inspired by his deep Christian beliefs, and The Cross at the Centre of the Continent (2002), a historical background of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, a biography of the author and the story of one of the most beautifully constructed crosses in the world.
