Holiday Travel Plans
Things are going well here. Teaching is hard, but not too frustrating. Your flight reservations (to Germany in October) sound good.
Jill was here visiting for two days, and just left this morning. Susie is also down from Kathmandu for 3 or 4 days to get some new design ideas going at the Center. It's nice to have guests after being in Janakpur for such a long time. Can't wait for the holidays!
The painting of my apartment is finally complete. Every wall in every room, inside and out, is now the same bright yellow color. The old blue color (largely because of the low quality of the paint used) had become streaked, water-stained, and faded. After the painters left, I spent two days rearranging and cleaning the apartment. It looks much much better and more comfortable now -- every bit as nice as my apartment in Florida was. Juni's stuff is still gathered into a huge pile in her room - hopefully it will be sent up to her new post in a week or two. (Although nothing is ever definite with Peace Corps.)
I'm sending my leave request form to the office today. I've been getting various invitations to go to India in early November. Even though schools are closed in Janakpur until mid-November, I have a feeling it will be hard to get permission. The best thing I could do would be to fly from Germany to southern India, and slowly make my way north back to Janakpur. We'll see. I'll just put in a request for Europe right now.
Well - I'll see if I can take the computer home -- in which case I'll write more. Otherwise I'll talk to you in a week from Kathmandu.
