In his fifth year at School, Neill was chosen for the lead role of 'Curly' in the 'triumphal' West Calder High School production of Oklahoma!

He also fronted the school's Rock Group ('Durge') and in his last year of school was 'outstanding' in the 'romantic lead' role of 'Sky' for the school production of 'Guys and Dolls' - (He was even asked back the year after he left school to bolster the production of 'Oliver' to play 'Fagin' - but had to decline due to exam pressures!
