Even more bikes

Got this in 98?, kept it for 4 years.
If I could have only 1 bike at a time, this would be the one.

Had this at the same time for a few weeks, but they couldn't keep it running.
Dealer gave me all my money back. But it left a big hole in my heart for a duck.

Yamaha R6
So, got this for 2 years: 370 pounds and 120 horsepower
Got to run on the track at Laudon NH a few days. Best biking minutes of my life.
Really a fantastic machine, but ran out of space and had to go back to 1 bike.

Aprilia RSV Mille
Traded the BMW for this, which died in 2 weeks.
A bolt came loose on the inside which was ground up into fine dust in my oil.
So I got a brand new replacement, but took that the same day and traded for ...

2002 Honda RC51 - got in 2003 with zero miles
Had it for 2 years, but never got to the track. Couldn't really take it far ...

2004 Ducati ST3
So I got this for longer rides

In many ways, a great bike, but not really a hard core sport bike, and after 3 hours on a tour I was tired and sore. I don't think there is a single go-fast and go-far bike.

2005 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe
Had this for 3 summers, May 05 to Sept 07, 10,000 miles. Very nice for driving around town, or on a long ride.

2006 Ducati 749 sold in 2008. Put 5000 miles and 6 track days on this. Loved it, but hard to enjoy on a 3+ hour ride.

Got this is August 07 to have a bike for "Spring Ride III", 4000 miles around the Southwest
2007 Yamaha FJR1300

Got this wonderful Duc in March 08 for short fast rides and track days.
2007 Ducati S4R 130hp

Then decided to "downsize" house from 4 big garages to a house with 2 medium and one tiny garage, so traded both FJR and S4R in on the bike of my dreams
2008 Ducati 1098R 186hp 364 pounds dry with traction control

Kids moved out and with more garage space, can have 2 bikes again. Was able to pick up this left over 08 Yamaha Road Star for a killer price. Now I can go fast or far.

After 2 good summers and some track days, traded in the 1098R for a Monster 1100S.
