Course Development

I have co-developed the following courses in the past years:

1. Media Leadership I – MG 572.3

Developed in conjunction with Mr. Von Johnson, MBA. A topical course that examines the business issues associated with motion picture financing, licensing and distribution. The course includes discussion on financing, contracts, product rights and international release issues. Some history will be highlighted to give the student a context for current practice. The course features opportunities to meet senior executives who command these aspects of the entertainment industry.

In this course, we provide students with useful knowledge of the largest business in the vicinity, with as our general objective: Enhancing their exposure to-, understanding of-, and success potential in media business administration.

2. Media Leadership II – MG 572.4

3. Personal and Professional Development -PD 140.0

Created by Dr. Satinder Dhiman, and extensively developed by Dr. Joan Marques.
This course introduces the foundations of personal development to individuals with aspirations toward business leadership performance. The course is subdivided in three segments:

    1. Becoming a Motivated Person Liberating the student's inner motivation, self-actualization, need for achievement, meta-cognition, and multiple forms of intelligence. We recast typical orientation seminar ideas to change them from techniques of survival to habits of living. So instead of talking about proper eating and sleeping as ways to avoid problems, we use the language of development and discuss hygiene factors and motivators and connect them with character.

    2. Personal Mastery through Meaning and Values Engaging the student in beginning to live what has been called "the highest self." We help them develop personal vision and values, and current reality. They work on reflecting, leveraging, and framing, and they begin a process of personal transformation. University education tends to induce change. Rather than letting the change happen to them, students actively participate in the change through these modules.

    3. Creativity, Innovation, and Intuition Making students aware that are involved in co-creating the world. We try to awaken their highest, creative principle and work on helping them delay judgment that shuts down creativity. We concentrate on flow, expert and optimal performance, holistic modes of knowing, and significance and authorship.
