The quad
This is the "quad" lawn, the grass on which is over 100 years old. No one except for the portors are allowed to walk on it, except for in special occasions. The buildings around the lawn are 12th century creations and now serve as admin and dorm buildings. It was incredible to be living in such history. This building is known as the Library, but it also contains the porter's lodge, dining hall, chapel, and bar. This is the main entrance to Worcester College. Worcester College is on the site of Gloucester College, which was founded in 1283. The present College dates from the early 18th Century. We ate breakfast and dinner each weekday in the dining hall. |
Food! mmmmmm....Harvey's sandwiches.
Harvey's sandwich shop was THE place to eat. I spent far to much money there on their BLTs for lunch and Mocha Cappachinos for evening treats. It was right around the corner, so we all frequented this little English shop (especially when the food served on campus TOO local, if you know what I mean). > |
