My mom was born Rosa Haughn on June 11, 1936 to Oscar Roscoe Haughn and Velma Alma Davis in Caney, Kansas-USA. She passed on Feb. 3, 2008 in Idaho Falls, ID and was laid to rest in Clovis, CA on Feb. 11, 2008. She shared her childhood years with seven siblings.

The other children are as follows: Margeret May Haughn, Elsie Pauine Haughn, Ira Lee Haughn, Stella Pearl Haughn, Richard Marion Haughn, Robert Carl Haughn and Delores Jean Haughn.There were two other siblings who died in infancy, James Leroy 1935 and Oscar Burton in 1938.

Grandpa Haughn's Ancestory

Oscar Haughn was b.April 1, 1911 to Ledoit Burton Haughn and May Belle BRISCO in Elgin, Kansas, USA at a section house owned by the railroad. His father Ledoit Burton was b. July 5, 1873 in Cumberland County Illinios (near Casey) to William Haughn and Mahala LACEY. Ledoit Burton died on April 14, 1949 and was buried in Caney, Kansas on April 17, 1949.

Ledoit had one other wife before May BRISCO, he married Julie Olive Williams on November 22, 1894, Julie passed on early in April of 1903 in Elgin, Kansas.Ledoit had no children with Julie.

On November 28, 1906 Ledoit married May Belle Brisco in Elgin, Kansas.

They had seven children including Oscar. The children were/are 1)Harold Richard Haughn b.may 6, 1908 in Elgin, Kansas

2) Clarkie Haughn who died in infancy in 1909

3) Oscar Roscoe

4) Emmie Mahala Haughn b.August 1912 in Elgin, Kansas m. Orie Elbert TODD August 4, 1931 d. June 9, 1985 in Coffeyville, Kansas (buried in Caney)

5) Lester George Haughn b.1915 d.1915

6)Arthur Ledoit Haughn b. December 23,1916 m. Mary Josephine Ashford (?), d. May 31, 1976 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma (buried in Niotaze,Kansas)

7)Gertrude Belle Haughn b. Feb.28, 1919 and is still alive today.
