1)Electrolysis- in electrolysis electricity is passed through water
causing the oxygen and the hydrogen to separate. Electrolysis
is curently non-cost effective.
2)Chemical- in water hydrogen will be replaced by a metal nobeler
than it, freeing the hydrogen.
3)Enzymes- enzymes can be used in a two-step process to release
hydrogen from the glucose in newspapers, grass, ect. The
cellulose in the waste newspaper produced in the U.S. each
year is, in theory, enough to power 37 cities with a population of
27,000 each.
4)Biological- Hydrogen is produced in the first stage of photosynthesis
