Background
We have been releasing white birds in Perth since 1990, and to date most of our business has been in weddings. Since that time we would have supplied birds for about 12 funerals only. In the USA it is becoming more popular to release white birds at funerals and Perth is starting to pick up in this area.
What we Offer
We have release capabilities of 50 birds at the moment (August ’99) with a range of 3 types of release boxes. Each box is white in colour and professionally presented.
At the moment we recommend a release of a single dove in a very attractive small cage for a single funeral.
If you wish extra then you could precede the single bird release (by a few seconds only) with a 10/20 bird release. The funeral directors in the USA have suggested that this symbolises the departed joining those that have gone before them.
Some Asian traditions release a bird for each year the person was alive and I’m sure there are many other possibilities.
Process
1 Book the birds by emailing indicating what you require and where (Perth, Western Australia only)
2 Frank or Mark will deliver the birds to the church, or more usually to the funeral directors.
3 The funeral directors take the box to the graveside or outside the crematorium ready for release.
4 The bereaved usually releases the birds.
5 The box will be picked up from the funeral directors.
God Bless you all.
