FIRST EVER PICKLEBALL WEDDING AT THE ARIZONA SENIOR OLYMPICS

On February 20, 2002, Barney Myer and Fran Trinder were joined in pickleball matrimony at the Arizona Senior Olympics held at Happy Trails Resort in Surprise, AZ. The ceremony took place at the Happy Trails Pickleball Chapel. After passing through the "Traditional Pickleball Arch" the couple exchanged vows in a ceremony performed by the pastor, Dr. Roger Ottersen. Over 150 pickleball players and well-wishers joined them afterwards for cake and punch.

After exchanging rings and sealing their vows with a kiss, their next match was announced and they finished the event by playing in the mixed doubles competition.
