Wolfenstein is what the bla bla gaming universe (substitute the "blas" to your liking cause this page ain't PG-13) what it bla is
today. Most bla stupid bla retards don't give a bla about all this bla bla bla and just think that it kicks bla bla bla because
of all the great bla it has to offer in terms of gameplay (like having scores and no bla bla automap) and great bla storyline. So,
what I'm really trying to say is: bla the bla are you bla reading this bla bla you bla bla from outer bla bla that smells like
bla bla bla bla bla bla bla *#@%!
Alright, considering that the first paragraph was really STUPID, I'll give ya a general knowledge lecture, you veteran wolf-fans can skip this part if you really want. Wolfenstein has changed the face of gaming in many interesting ways, taking a giant step in many areas. First of all, it showed people that the PC platform was considerably better than other systems for the first time with it's smooth 3-D environment. ID's second Keen trilogy also pushed the PC into the competition with it's amazing frame rate. Wolfenstein was daring in it's use of killing Germans and dogs with real weapons like the machine gun and chaingun, while most other games focused on shooting aliens and cartoon characters with imaginary weapons; and wolf3d portrayed extremely violent death scenes with extensive blood and dramatic cries... putting the player into a seemingly real life situation that they can relate to and feel emotion for, using it's WWII Castle situation that most people can easily follow, making the game a truly revolutionary, life-like experience. Not only was using Nazis a step for development in the characters and atmospheric approach, it also showed that a game doesn't have to focus on being adaquate for all ages to be successful. Most people like Wolf3d for it's gameplay and storyline, but it's also all-around advances (that have changed the way we look at games) certainly is a factor to consider in this day in age as well.
Day of the Wolf

July 19th, the day we take time our of our lives to rejoyce
Wolfenstein however we please. Let it be chatting, exploring
wolf pages (or just looking at mine all day), making a giant
e-mail signed by everyone and sending it to ID software to
show we still love this game; or hey, why not play
Wolfenstein? Tell me what you think the Day of the
Wolf should symbolize, be imaginative, say anything that
comes to your mind: Celebration Ideas
. And in the meantime, dance with
wolves, howl at the moon and bow to our new religion of Wolf.
This should be a NATIONAL HOLIDAY!
Did you know that Day of the Wolf is the 30th anniversary of "Moon Landing"? Neither did I. Now that we got that settled with, I'm going to move on to... oh ok DJ, I'll tell them. DJ's the one that told
me that, thank you DJ. I looked at my American Astronauts poster on my wall (the things laying around my room are absurd, I'm not even American) out of curiosity and the astronauts were three kewl dudes named Buzz Aldrin,
Unknown Collins and Annonymous Armstrong in their Apollo 11 shuttle; yeah, Apollo 11! Well I'm sorry they didn't make an Apollo 11 movie but you gotta believe me guys. Congratulations boys and Happy Anniversary!! =) Now get
rid of that space gear and celebrate Day of the Wolf!
Wolfenstein Conversions
Ok, here's a dedication to all the best add-ons
ever created. It will probably NEVER be updated because I don't think there
will be many add-ons that can meet these extremely high expectations.
Looking for a sequal veterans? Sure, it's not legally known as the commercial version of wolf3d, but
that's about the only thing that stops this action packed game from filling the role of one. And it's especially
recommended for fans who love the atmospheric flavor of dark swamps and shocking mutants that was so good in Episode 2.
The quality of these well-crafted levels are probably the main reason why it is so
popular, or at least that should be the main reason. Don't fool yourself into thinking that this game is easy just because it's
only one episode; because this episode is GIGANTIC. A mixture of challenge, hords of lovely decorations, and great
style (inspired by the original) gives the game it's edge to keep you on your feet and coming back for more. As you progress,
the levels get harder and harder; Level 6, which is like the climax to a story, reaching the highest point in action in the Old
Castle which will make you Death Incarnate players scatter around like chickens. I've only had the pleasure of playing up to
the mossy and captivating Level 8 so far, where it took me about 10 minutes of goofing around to trap the dog in the elevator.
Schabbs2000 has inspired me in so many ways, so imagine what it could do for you. Have Fun!

SCHABBS2000

I thought I had everything figured out until I saw this
breath-taking 6 episode game. Before downloading CITF, I was confident that it was impossible to match the quality and realism of the Wolf3d levels, so why even try (and that's
pretty much why I took a whole new approach while making Chokage, cause who'd want to play extra wolf3d levels if they're not as good as the normal ones anyway?). But...
surprisingly, that theory has all changed. B.J. Rowan has taken Wolfenstein 3-D to
a whole new level. Mastering Tom Hall's awesome abilities and taking the style and atmosphere one step further into reality, enhancing the original graphics
and sound to perfection, and adding an amazing detailed storyline for every episode are all the key elements that make you feel like you are even more "there"
than in Wolfenstein itself. I only played the first level so far, but the quality and feel is so grand that it's no wonder why this game took 2 years in the
making. From the gruesome blood stained guards to the awakening cracks of gunfire, the only words I can think of for it is Wolfenstein Version 2.0. Definately
recommended for die-hard fans of the original Wolf3d; heck, if you have a friend that wants wolf3d, give them this, they won't regret
it!

Conflicts in the Fatherland

If you're looking for the easy as 1-2-3 ratios, you've come to the wrong place. This 3 Episode patch is meant for the quirky minded
geniouses that can think up outragious solutions for seemingly impossible problems. It's sort of like a collosal of Live Brain traps
jam-packed together in a wonderful way with a whole new crop of strategies. These levels are filled to the max with tricks
in the Wolfenstein Engine, and the tricks are portrayed in a very awesome way that leaves you in suspence every time you try something
new; where enemies can even help finish your quest; and where finding a secret area can sabatoge everything. As with CITF, I have only had the honor of playing
one level to the fullest... that level was Episode 1 Level 1; which was smashing and gave me some really great
times. If you've never experimented with MapEdit, you'll be even more blown away by the confusions that lurk beyond
your realm in this house of insanity. It also comes with a 120K hint file, which I deleted right off the bat to make the
jouney even more mysterious (I also make the levels unreadable to Mapedit cause I don't trust myself). I'd suggest that you don't use the hints unless
you have to, or play the whole game to your best ability and then check out the hint file. It's so much more fun exploring
stuff for yourself than letting a book tell you everything... I got so much satisfaction just out of uncovering all the hidden
sections in Level 1 without cheating. And then there's sections where he tries to tease you to cheat by putting unaccessable areas right infront of you;
hehe.. can you survive without letting your "evil curiousity" get the best of you? Anyways, if you've got a couple tricks up your sleeve, try this
boggling game out and see how far you can get... with 100% ratios!
Intrieging is the word for this game. Though the levels aren't overly complex and there is only two known episodes, the
new features in this game just makes it seem so cool. Created by the source code happy Nate Smith, this game
is like Wolfenstein created two years later in computer technology. It's
got some groovy spots where the ground is black (it almost seems like you should be falling), and
the weapons are out of this world; especially the Rocket Launcher. BW2 is way
better organized than his last attempt; Schabbs Resurrection, but I'd have to admit; the
#2 gun on S.R. was funner to use. If you're having trouble using the guns, don't fret! Would you
believe that they come with a crosshair? Press X. It's funky how the ceiling lights "light up" as you stand
under them... and those wicked 1% siringes that I always loved that were on S.R.
are back (though I never really understood why siringes could give you health). Watch out though,
these dudes sometimes have a tendancy to trip over their own blood slosh and slide positions
when you've got your trigger aimed at their heads. The new graphics look superb, and it's
interesting how some levels are combined together (you'll see what I mean when you get far in the
game). Funny, I had almost all the same ideas as Nate for my next upgrade... guess that saying: "Great
minds think alike" is true, but pretty bizzaro considering I use a hex editor and he uses the source code.
I'll leave the rest of the features a surprise for you.
These ones are more interesting to the curious type that are
always looking for new things. Unlike the games above, these games
don't basically revolve around the insane World War II; but instead
have a mixture of colorful new things and crazy imaginative worlds
to go along with the original work, giving you a fresh new platform
to feast your adventourous eyes upon.
This is my favorite conversion for the Shareware Version. The Graphics were hand-painted by the excellent
M. Fleig; every character is "set to look like those clawed aliens from the movies", and the treasures are your abducted
fellow humans that you were of course, sent here to save. The walls have been altered significantly to give you the
feeling that you are in a drifing space station, from it's alienoid doors to it's windows of endless stars.
The levels further deliver the impression of being on
the ship by their unique structures. Colonel Bill realized this game's
excellence and decided to create new sounds for it that would give it even more of an effect. I have taken
the pleasure or revising the very few flaws in the levels (mostly in the higher decks of the ship) and
reshaping some sections to perfection, along with a few added graphics for the ending sequence (for instance,
the boss is no longer Hans Grosse and you don't "jump" into the escape pods anymore). The new version can
be found in the Trilogy, along with many other fascinating shareware games.
Another great space adventure is Astrostein. The MAC converted graphics are of extrordinary quality and the levels
and organization was made possible by Gerald Heffner.
What could be so bad about going into a bar? Well, when you meet with the wrong type
of people, things can get a little nasty... stick around and you'll be the
main attraction; for some psycotic armed bullies. 6 new Episodes and a whole
stash of altered graphics (that you'd see when you've been at a bar for too long)
by Cordall Falk make for some weird sighs. It seems that the more you drink, the more you'll
be encountering Cindy Crawford. Mmmm.. finally a game that gets things right;
babes and beer. The new sounds are hilarious, and there's entertaining
storylines and epilogues for every episode, that usually revolve around the
bar. And there's more stuff to read in the ez-2-use, colourful Menu as well.
The only thing I found annoying are the title screens, they're nice, but
they get annoying. To get rid of them, just delete all the PIC* files or rename
them to something else. The story is fantastic, it really puts you into the
game and makes you aware of your surroundings. To give you a little break, Falk
made some of these dudes so drunk that they can't even distinguish a person
from a wall. I think I had a little too many beers myself when I started seeing a pile
of blood transform into electrical cords in Level 4.
Haha.. I'm not one of those looney bins that
brags about every aspect of my own game, so check it out dudes at Herc's Super Chokage Alley and tell me how insane you think this game really is.
A really bizarre game with cartoonish flashy colours for it's weapons and
enemies, and has a pretty odd storyline
with guards that inherited pac-man heads which is pretty funny...
makes you proud that someone who was only 13 at the time could write
such an interesting readme file, and it includes options from it's
batch style menu as well (umm.. I don't think it works that well anymore
though). Also reminds me of Chokage in many ways, groovy. That's
probably why I like it so much. The game has many wide areas in the later levels
that make you feel in suspense as the music pounds away. You'll
probably play this game and think "what is this Chris nut talking
about?"... but I have never felt a more open atmosphere than
the two times I played this game on my laptop. Personally, I liked V1.x
with the floating dogs that hide from you (or at least it seems that way
after playing Chokage) better. There's more added sounds on the new version,
but they are VERY strange (is there a Mandolin stuck in that door?). If you
keep on pressing the #2 weapon rapidly, the music will have more bass to
it, woh! One cool thing about this game (that almost every other game lacks), is
that there's actually people in the highscores list (and they're pretty
tough scores to beat too), gives you something to shoot for.
Playing wolf is fun, but you think it would be as fun if it wasn't for all the points you get from
hauling up on treasure, or the satisfaction you feel from beating a par time. Our competition (which is strictly
that) is in dire need of a few brave gamers. It's all for fun, and what have you got to lose? I'm sure our World
Champion Martin Bonnet is laughing in his shoes as hardly anyone has ever dared to challenge his outstanding
score. Guess we're not all fit to be Allied Soldiers. But if you're up to the task, try your luck, take the
Wolfenstein Highscores Hall of Fame challenge. If you make it on the charts, you're already a winner right?

How much do you know about these guys, who are you the most similar to, and how much are you really alike to them? Judge for yourself if these guys are totally off, or so much in common that they must have been raised as quadrooplets at birth and should meet on Jonovision as long lost brothers. And while your at it, see who you are most alike as by playing as BJ... the 5th star.
