Sunnydaze Castell Back In Black

After 35+ years of loving, hunting, trialing, showing and trying to breed Labradors, we decided to give up. We had only had 3 physically sound dogs in all those years and the heartache was just too much.

A couple years after placing our last, we received an email and pictures of a litter of Sunnydaze puppies asking our opinion evaluating them. Rick and I, both, fell in love with the "green string" boy; an awesome puppy with tons of quality and promise. I guess we were too exhuberant as Linda offered us a co-ownership and the rest is history.

We made the trip to Seattle and Bellingham to pick up a FAT, 9 week old bundle of love! Because of his "size", he reminded us of some of the Black Angus Cattle raised around us, hence his name. He immediately took to retrieving and, since we are now raising Pheasant, was introduced to the "real thing" right away. Angus has been retrieving adult pheasant since he was 9 weeks old.

Angus ventured to Utah with Kathleen and won his first championship point with a Best of Breed.
He is still very immature so he will not be in the show ring very often until we feel he has reached his maturity.

While Angus is growing up he is spending his time with Rick out in the hunt fields.
After hunters who have purchased our birds leave the fields, Rick and Angus go out and retrieve the ones that managed to "get away"!
So far, we've not lost a bird!
