Vicente
Manansala
Vicente Manansala was born in 1910 in Macabebe, Pampanga. He studied Fine
Arts at the University of the Philippines and graduated in 1930. He further
studied in Canada at the Ecole de Beaux Arts in Banff and Ecole de Beaux
Atrs in Montreal under world- renowned cubist Fernand Leger. He was
a member of thirteen modern and realist organizations. He held his first
one-man show at the Manila Hotel in 1951. He was declared national artist
in painting in 1982 sadly after his death. His works are fast gaining prominence
these past years in the Far East and is becoming a favorite of many art
collectors in that region.
