Criminals & Gangmembers Anonymous
Four or five quick thousand dollars is not worth ten to fifteen long years in prison.
Taking shortcuts to temporary pleasure is not really success,
but more so, a commitment to failure!
(Richard M, CGA Founder)
CGAis an assertive, committed organization that seeks no monetary profit in achieving its primary purpose to help individuals who earnestly desire to disassociate from gang involvement.
We aim to help criminals and gang members who want to disassociate from gang involvement and criminal activities by offering them an alternative lifestyle free of violence and any other forms of illegal activities through our principles of recover from destructive addictions.
Driven by our fundamental purpose, we embrace all that are motivated to abandon the tragic effects of gang activity. We recognize that gang involvement is interwoven into many other compulsive, addictive habits. Many are forms of chemical dependence, others are forms of co-dependency.
Our goal is to assist gang members in identifying the magnetic power of gang manipulation that triggers irresistible actions that have negative results.
Our Recovery Family
CGAis mainly composed of, but not only of ex-gang members, recovering from a destructive lifestyle. We are addicted to a destructive behaviors and lifestyle, including to alcohol and drugs. We have first hand experience -- and know the end result of gang activity and destructive behavior is incarceration, physical impairment, or death.
There are no professional roles in our fellowships. We are merely individuals who have lived the lifestyle, survived by the grace of a power greater than ourselves, and are here to share the experience we know best -- to help others who are doing what we did, find a better way of living.
We hope we can aid gang members dissociate from the grip of hostility and help restore their communities instead of destroying them.
There are no leaders "calling shots"; no one assigned to control us. Those who are responsible for facilitating our fellowship meetings and explain the methods of CGA's recovery process are only trusted servants. These individuals are selected by a group conscience to serve in specific capacities. They genuinely care and have experience with our principles and traditions.
ForCGA to be consistently effective with its purpose, this will be achieved by several different approaches that all weave into the guidelines established by our
Twelve Steps& Twelve Traditions
Our methods have been time-tested and have proven most reliable and compatible with our objectives.
