When she has free time, Gabrielle enjoys participating in various
athletic activities, as well as giving her time to various charities and
organization.

Where she started: Gabrielle had wanted to be an actress ever since she was a
little girl. After graduating from high school, she decided to make some
changes, she moved to New York to attend Sarah Lawrence College, and study
acting with various instructors. In addition to this, she also studied at
the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and the London Academy of Music and
Dramatic Art.

TV credits: starring roles in the award-winning CBS afterschool special
"What If I'm Gay" and ABC's afterschool special "Seasonal Differences".
Additional credits include a recurring role in the NBC daytime drama
"Another World" as well as appearances in the ABC afterschool special "Just
Between Friends" and the motion picture "Jackknife". Gabrielle also
appeared in the 1992 "Circus Of The Stars".

In addition to her numerous television appearances, she has performed in
several Off-Broadway productions. Most recently, Gabrielle appeared at the
George Street Theater in New York as Cecile in the stage production of "Les
Liasons Dangereuses".

Gabrielle is the co-executive producer of the syndicated television special
"Face The Hate", about "hate-ism" in America which aired in June 1993. She
is also the executive producer of ten one-hour syndicated specials "Life
Stories with Gabrielle Carteris".
