Eventually, this intersection will not be along US 34. According to plans posted at the Jefferson County courthouse in May 2005, new four-lane 34 will leave the current route west of 303, have an interchange with the current route east of 303, have an interchange with IA 1, and then rejoin present 34 on the east side of Fairfield. The Fairfield bypass will supposedly be completed by the end of 2008, but given past delays "by the end of the decade" may be a safer statement.

SOUTH End: 4-way stop, Maple Ave., Libertyville, Jefferson County

The south end is an educated guess; Jason figures it to be at the south V64/H43 split.
