ON THE ROAD WITH D & J'S 1976 MGB

OUR NEW ADDITION A 1976 MGB! A LOT OF WORK AHEAD ON THIS ONE!

Having driven, repaired, enjoyed, repaired and totally developed a near love relationship with our 1970 MG Midget, whom we call "Charlie" in honor of Prince Charles, we adventourously decided that once again we would be brave and take up the challenge that can be an MG. Oh sure we could have purchased another sporty little MG car completely restored and shining in all its pristine glory....but where is the sense of parenthood? To take a somewhat negelected MGB and slowly with dreams of what will be begin the process of "transformation" while all the time keeping fingers crossed and uttering little silent prayers that one can justify the investment in not only money but sweat and frustrations in adopting another MG member into our family.

OUR 1976 MGB

I really have to admit that the very first time I got a real on hands touch of our "new" "76 B, dressed in Tahiti Blue my heart did immediately warm. As I ran my fingers over that intimately styled car body I knew inside...you know that "gut" feeling...that this vechicle though covered in a layer of storage dust and years of grime, cobwebs, filled with leaves from who know how many years ago was destined to once again gleam and shine! I could hardly hold my excitiment as in my minds eye I already envisioned I and JoAnn driving down some back road headed for another MG outing...the thought of the wind blowing through our hair and the sun shining warm!

Perhaps it is that sense of automotive history...the remote idea that you are once again a small part of preserving the MG heritage. Well perhaps its more personal than that....it's clinging to your own old dreams and a regaining of long ago youthful thoughts!
