It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Marijane Harless-Smith. I have know her for approximately 2 years. During that time I have observed her caring for her own children and her daycare children. Mrs. Smith is an excellent care provider for her children and those who come to her care through her daycare business.
She has two children of her own, one who is a special needs child. As a parent of my own special needs child, I am amazed at the skill and patients she exhibits in dealing with her children's needs and balancing those needs to ensure both children feel loved and secure. She is a loving, caring mother and does everything in her power to provide the best home environment for her children.
As a daycare provider, Mrs. Smith is a dedicated professional who provides an excellent environment for the children placed in her care. She has guided needy parent through the block grant process and qualified her daycare for the food program. She spends a great deal of time choosing age appropriate crafts and activities for the children to do while is her care. She is also available for overnight or weekend care when needed.
I would not hesitate to recommend Mrs. Smith's Daycare to any of my friends. She is am asset to the Des Moines area, Providing services above that of most Daycare Providers.

I have been acquainted with Marijane for several years. I have had the opportunity to see her interact with her children, one of which has special needs, my child, and other children she was responsible for. I feel that Marijane possesses good judgment and can implement that judgment quickly in stressful situations. With Marijane's Education, training and experience with children I believe she makes a good daycare provider and would recommend her to people looking for those qualities.

Marijane is trustworthy and has always been there for the past 1 1/2 years to watch my children no matter what time my hours have ranged at work. She also does several fun and educational activities with the children in her care. The support she gives me and my children to become a better family unit is immeasurable. As a provider she encourages my children to do their homework while they are in her care. And even encourages them to do their chores at home.
As a Provider she works hard to give the children attention that is needed for them to grow. She also plays games at different levels to suit their ages. She provides very well rounded meals and has children help in either planning or assisting in some form with the meals served.
She also is one of the few Daycare Providers I know that has varied hours. Meaning she is Open basically when ever I am in need of her services. Whether that is early morning, late nights, and sometimes even over nights. Most Providers don't have flexible hours. Marijane is a wonderful asset to the Iowa Childcare Field.
