New:

Some of you know that in April of 2000 in Omaha Nebraska at the Askarben Rodeo held at the Aksarben Race Track. JW Kirk rode his bull for the full 8 seconds. After JW was off the bull and on the ground. The bull turned and stepped on his left knee. Pushing his knee to the back of his leg. JW remember what it feels like. He says "It was a sharp pain. On a scare to 1 to 10. Its a 50. Like I've been ran over with a pick-up." JW told me. He remembers Dr. Jack O'hallaran of the University of Nebraska Sports Med. team. Came into the arena, grabbed his boot and was able to bend his leg to his hip. JW got his keen operated on. And had a stainless steel knee put in place. JW was told by Dr. O'hallaron he would be out 2 to 6 months. JW didn't listen. In June of 2000, he climbed on the back of another bull. At the Nebraskaland Days in NorthPlatte Nebraska. I asked JW what it was like to get on a bull after recieving such an injury to the knee. His response was it felt good to get back on but hard. What was so hard? "I was in pain." We know you have been out for almost 3 years. Why such a long time away from Rodeo? "To give my knee time to heal." On July 23, 2003 JW got back on. For the Extreme Bullride Tour in Indianola Iowa for Bullriders of America. You bucked off both bulls. What was your toughts as you were getting ready to ride? "That I was going to get hurt." After riding for the PBR and the PRCA. What was it like to ride for the BOA? "About the same caliber of livestock." What advise do you have for your fans? "Live your dreams"After talking about him being our for so long. We talked about how he got started in Rodeo, and his personal life. And here is whwat was said. How did you get started in Rodeo? "Just started." How old were you when you started? "I was 8 years old." Have you always rode bulls? "Yes!" How did your parents react to you riding bulls at such a young age? "My dad didn't mind and my mom didn't want me to." What is your best memory from your Rodeo career? "Going to Houston." What made it your best memory? "Riding with all the legends." What was your worse memory? "Going to Cheyenne Wyoming for the 1989 Cheyenne Frontier Days." Why? "I watched Lane Frost get killed." With the loss of your baby sister, your father and your bestfriend. How did it affect your career? "It made me think about my mortality." What is your future plans for Rodeo? "To win the World Championship." The last things I asked JW was about his wife and children. We understand that you have someone in your life that is special to you. Who is it? "My loving and caring wife Jeania." How did you meed her and what was your first thoughts? "We met online. On a chat called Alamak.com. I cant remember what my first thoughts were. That was almost 4 years ago." When you and Jeania got togehter. Why did you keep your relationship out of the press? "Because we were 1800 miles apart and wanted to wait until we were together in person." How long have you and Jeania been together? "We've been together for almost 2 years." When did you know you wanted Jeania to be apart of your life? "When I asked her." How did you ask Jeania to be your wife? "I asked her twice to be my cowgirl for life. The second time I asked her, she said yes." When did you and Jeania get married? "On September 21, 2002." We know you have 2 children and Jeania has 3 children. Dustin age 9, Cheyenne age 7, Dustin age 5, Michael age 2, and Chyanne age 1. What is it like to have 2 boys and both girls with the same name? "Different." Do you ever get teh kids confused?
