Monday (day 4)

When we got off the train in Prague about 10 people came up and asked us if we needed a place to stay, but we didnt because we were supposed to meet up with Colin who had been in Prague for the last few days and had a hostel reserved for us.

so we started on our way to go find Colin who was supposed to meet us by the museum of medieval torture instruments. we walked so far with our heavy backpacks and could not find the museum we were supposed to meet at, we told Colin we would meet him between 4-5 and 5 oclock was rapidly approaching, and i was losing confidence, and thought we should just find a hostel because i was dieing to lose my pack. finally we found him in our final attempt, he took us to our hostel and we dropped of our packs and went to diner.

Diner was awesome, we had several large pints of pilsner beer, I had a 4 course meal of duck, soup, bread, and apple pie. This large tasty diner came to a total of about 8 dollars. 8 dollars means like 240 Koruna. that was nice. We went out that night and had a good time.
Prague was a great town. We were able to buy bottles of liquor from hotdog stands and they give you little plastic shot glasses with them.

Tuesday (day 5)

Again I woke up so much earlier than the rest of the group and i headed out of the hostel to roam around. I started my quest for a news paper or something to read that because there was no chance i was going to be able to talk to someone in a cafe. Czech is a really difficult language to understand. There were almost no similarities to English or French. The one thing that i learned in Czech is that No mean Yes.
My first CHEAP meal since i've been in Europe. Czech food is pretty good too. Those beers you see there were less than a dollar, also really good.

I walked for like 30 minutes before i was able to find a newspaper stand, I bought Time magazine, and found the "star cafe" this place was decorated in all green and was real trendy. It was a total rip off of starbucks, and did a lot of good business. It was nice to be able to get a big coffee for cheap. In France and Italy you cant buy a coffee to go. I sat in the Star Cafe and read my magazine. Eventually a girl came in bought a coffee with a 1000 koruna bill and the people were giving her some grief, she was speaking English and when she finally got it all straitened out she sat on one of the couches next to me and i asked her where she was from, clearly the US. Her name was Erin and she was from Michigan and goes to the University of Michigan. She too had roommates that slept was later than her, and she said that she had hours to kill too and that she was going to some art museum. She asked if i wanted to go and i said i had to go see how much longer my roommates were going to sleep. we both went back and found that my roommates were up and about, and getting ready to go to the Czech castle. I told her i couldnt go with here to the museum, but she still wanted to go with us to the castle.
I'm standing outside the palace and cathedral in prague. What a stupid picture.

we went to the pretty unimpressive castle, but outside the castle was a huge cathedral, which was impressive. After a while we paid the money and took that tour. When we were finished with the tour Erin left and found her friends and we went and got some food. this is only the first few days of the trip I'll finish it later, but i'm getting really tired of typing. I have nothing else to do today, so i'll probably finish it up later.
this one didnt scan so well. It was hazy outside so you cant tell that there is a cool skyline behind us.
