Saturday-Arrival
I took the bus to the Marseille airport Saturday at 11 oclock to pick her up. I got there pretty early and bought a magazine to read while I waited for her plane to arrive. I had bought her some roses from the market before I went to the airport so when I was standing at the stairs waiting for her to come out of her jet way I got quite a few looks. I watched what must have been a 747 from Paris disembark because about 300 people came out when I started to think that she did not make it on her plane. Then I realized it was a different plane from Paris. Her plane arrived about 15 minutes after that one (15 minutes late) and she was one of the last passengers on the plane so I was kind of in a zone by the time she made her way down the escalator and I didn’t see her until she was almost in front of me.
We went to the baggage area where we discovered that her baggage had not made it to Marseille. We went and took care of all that and headed upstairs to get her ticket home straightened out and caught the next bus back to Aix which leaves pretty regularly and we headed back to Aix, where we walked through the centre of Aix to Freds place where Brooke took a nap.
After Brookes nap and shower we headed to town for a little party at Ethan’s place where we hung out with James, Yannik, Ethan, A group of Norwegian girls, and a couple of friends of James who are studying in Copenhagen. After the little soiree we went to the red clover only for a few minutes then headed home…Brookes jetlag had caught up with her around 1 am.
Sunday
we were thinking about going to climb the mountain until Fred offered to take us to cassis to the beach. It wasn’t that nice out but here in France everything is closed on Sundays so we thought it would be a better idea to spend the day somewhere with some scenery rather than a city where everything is closed.. we went to Cassis ate some crepes with Fred, went to La Ciotat to see a bed and breakfast which Fred recommended that we stay in and then to have a drink with one freds friends who lives in La Ciotat. She had an amazing place. A great pool, new house, and great view made me miss living in a house a little. Freds friend was very nice a it was fun to chat with her. When we arrived back in Aix Fred dropped us off in the centre and we bought a pizza and ate it on the Cors Mira beau and then had some wine in one of the cafes
Monday
I had class, from 9 to noon, then we met up for Brookes first “handlebar” sandwich. (sandwich made by a man with a moustache that looks like handlebars) I had class again from 4-7 and the plan was for Brooke to hang out at Virtualis until around 530 at which point I was going to leave class and come meet up with her.. I got to class to discover that my teacher was going to be an hour late and that’s not too cool with me.. So I decided to skip that class. (the teacher was late because she forgot about daylights savings time) I came back to get Brooke. I We had dinner with Fred and Jessica on Monday night.. Fred made pasta and everything was great.. We just hung around the apartment on Monday night.. I have class every day at 9 am so there has to be something really fun going on in town to draw me in and unfortunately not much goes on Mondays so it was a quiet night.
Tuesday
I met Brooke in the Centre at 1030 when I finished with class and we walked though the market which takes some time because the market is pretty large. The market has everything you can imagin. We spent a pleasant day in town, and capped it off with a little “fete” (party) at Carolines and Jules. There were quite a few people there night. After the party at the apartment we went to bar sextius where there was a pretty good turnout. A majority of my school was there, and it was really nice time because the weather was pretty nice and we were able to stand out side. This was a good night because Brooke got to meet a lot of my friends here. We were going to go to IPN to dance after Bar Sextius closed but the fact that George was not working the door combined with the fact that Brooke was a little fatigued presented enough reason to Brooke and I to begin our way up the hill to Freds place.
