This is Bart Getting "funky" at Jamboree. This club was amazing!
We were out pretty late, but again I found myself sleeping in a cheap hostel in a city that Ive never been in so I instinctively woke up around 9 oclock, told Bart that I was going to take a shower, and go find a paper and a cafe to sit at. We were supposed to meet around noon, and everything went just as planned. I found a nice busy caf?and a paper…The language barrier is difficult to get around but I still managed to get around.
Bart and I arent very good tourists. We preferred to just take it easy. The first thing we did was ramble around to find the Picasso museum which was very cool. this was the second picasso museum I'd been to and this one was a much better museum than the one in antibes where he did his work, but I liked the painting more in Antibes. We walked along the busy street on the coast for a while, got some lunch, roamed to the "world trade center" at the end of the Rambla, and eventually ended up spending a bunch of the day on the beach. After the beach we decided to go back to the hostel and I told Bart that if we were going to go crazy for this bar crawl being put on by our hostel that I needed to fall asleep for a little while, I did just that then we woke up, got some food, found some booze to drink.. probably would have been okay if we didnt drink before the bar crawl, because the 23 euro for the bar crawl took us to 5 bars, with a free drink at each bar (on top of what we were buying ourselves) and at one point we stopped had to stand on these stairs and then had to stand up in front of everyone tell who we were and something about ourselves in order to get a beer out of the guides backpack. The tequila shots really beat me up this night. Since everyone was pretty buzzed it was not a big deal.
This bar crawl was awesome, there werent too many females who went on the trip which was fine, and we made a lot of new friends.. if I ever end up in South Central L.A. Ive got a couple of homeboys they said that boys in the hood and Friday were based off of their neighborhoods. One of them you can pick out in the picture the other one is wearing the glasses, and didnt seem like he came from the hood. Our other friend in that group came from Montreal. He was a good guy, very generous, he bought me a couple of drinks out of nowhere. We went to five pubs/bars which were all really cool and really unique and ended at a "premier" dance club called Jamboree. Im going to agree with them, it was a really good dance club. I had blast on this bar crawl and I think it was worth every cent. Just comparing it to the first night when we walked around like a couple of chickens with their heads cut off. Also cover at the club would have been 15 euro, so that was where a big portion of our money went.
After the club, Bart and the new Homeboys wanted to go out for while longer I think it was around 4 am at this time and I told them I had enough and was going to head back to the hostel. They pointed me in the direction and I was on my way. This was the one time where being a drunk runner (person who runs home when they are drunk) was a bad thing. I was really drunk, and I headed in the wrong way. The guys said we were really close to the hostel so after about 30 minutes of running I started to question where I was. I hailed a taxi, which had a driver that didnt speak a word of English and had no idea what Gothic Point was. He handed me a sheet of paper where I wrote, gothic point, youth hostel..(pause)..Argenteria..After I remembered the name of the street he knew where it was we started to drive, really fast and it took a long time to get there. It turns out I ran a really long way in the wrong direction. So I made it home, crashed?.
