This may not be the most interesting story ever told, but I figured if I made a website I had to include something about the Chocolate Penguins. The chocolate penguins were created when me and my friends started hanging out under this tree in the "football field". We were bored so we started making "half-time shows" for the football games that we weren't a part of. We didn't have a name, and being 5th graders and all, a name was our top priority. That's when these girls came running by. (This is the believed theory of how our name came about) They came by our tree, and it was fall so there were lots of leaves on the ground. One of these girls found a leaf and said it looked like a penguin. And then another said it looked like some kind of "chocolate penguin". The name clicked in our heads as we overheard, and we decided to name our group the chocolate penguins. They thought they deserved some credit for coming up with a name, so they were our "managers". They helped with the shows and were in some of them with us. Later that year I remember our conflicts with the "Girlie Club" (thats what we called it, I dont remember if there was an actual name). This was a club that the girls of our class created. Many, even our mangers I believe, joined in this "girlie" cult. We declared war upon them but nothing really came from it. In sixth grade, we realized that we could not stay as chocoate penguins by our hallowed tree forever. For we would be sent to Junior High the next year. No recess. So we buried bouncy balls at different sights on the playground, symbolizing first recess, last recess, and (most importantly) noon recess. In those graves the memory of chocolate penguins will rest forever. Under a tree, and the other two under a newly built school. I probably left our some stuff in my summary of the life and times of the chocolate peguins. If so, e-mail me with suggestions, memories, or other stuff I may have not written.
