Pastured Poultry

We raise SLF broiler chickens on grass with lots of sunshine and fresh air. Trace minerals from North Atlantic Kelp transfer to the soil as they move across the pasture. Grass gets fertilizer and soil remineralized. No drugs. No animal protein. All natural. Hand eviscerated to reduce fecal contamination. Purchase whole, seasonal. Fresh (Frozen extra). Order by March 15, 2005.

Free-Range Eggs

SLF layer hens follow the cattle around in the pasture, distributing manure while scratching for tasty morsels. Fly population is reduced, while nutrients are evenly spread over the soil. Fresh air and water, shelter and nests help to produce some of the most healthful, highly nutritious eggs around. Almost year-round, by the dozen.

Salad Bar Beef

We never give SLF Beeves hormones, vaccines or antibiotics. Dairy bulls get an all-natural milk replacer for 16 weeks, instead of the usual eight weeks. This helps them mature their ruminants so they can consume the grass just as they would have if they had been with their mother on the pasture. Calves are finished on grass, increasing Omega-3 Fatty Acids while reducing overall fat content. We reduce stress by handling cattle gently. Less stress means tender meat. Purchase quarter, half or whole. Seasonal.

Pastured Pork

SLF hogs live outside on the grass with access to sun, shade and shelter. They enjoy an all-natural diet with no antibiotics, hormones or vaccines. Pork is tender and tasty. Purchase half or whole. Seasonal.

About Your Food

For centuries, families grew their own meat. Today, our grocery store mentality leads us to convenience, but at a cost. If you want the most nutritious and healthy food, you must plan for it. We can help. Fill out the form and send it to us!

You will need freezer space. The investment in a freezer is worth the price. How much does consuming harmful chemicals cost?

About SLF

Our primary purpose is to glorify God. We do so by studying the Bible and implementing its principles, precepts and patterns. God created everything to be enjoyed and studied by man (Gen. 1:28). We strive to care for His creation, while learning about the perfect balance He put into it.

We live in a destroyed, cursed world, marred by the effects of sin. But, God is the great Redeemer, through Jesus Christ, His Son. (John 3:16)

Almost all labor is a fight against the decay and destruction of His creation. (Gen. 3:17-19) But one thing is continuously renewed: life.

The cycle God created is amazing. Our goal is to understand that cycle, utilize the symbiotic relationships between soil, sun, plants and animals, and produce healthy, drug-free, antibiotic-free, nutritious food for our children, and yours.

Our five children and our future progeny will benefit from our careful diligence. Please support our goal by supporting Shady Larch Farm. Thank you!
