His estate was inventoried and appraised on or about April 23, 1845. Thirty-seven slaves, with their names and value are listed, including one mother and her baby. His livestock was listed as one cow over 4 years old and three steers over two years old at William Wright's. Information about Stephen came from Ed Godbold (via Fred Roberson Nobles)

Ellender Wright filed claim with U.S. Senate Southern Claims Commission for loss of her family's meat supply, 200 bushels of corn, and fodder, total worth of $302.50, which she claims was taken during the night of 18 April 1865 by Union General Smith for the use of his troops. Ellender appeared before the Commissioners of Claims 4 Aug 1876. Her reported age at that time was 72 yeras.
