It is believed that Nancy Manciler Cooper first married an Entriken and had one child. She was born in Flomaton but may have grown up in Robertsdale and is related to the Cooper Van Line family in the Mobile AL area.

It is thought that her father was called Jordan Cooper who was a preacher.

In the 1920 census for Baldwin County AL, she stated that she was 38 years old with a birth year of about 1882.

He served in the Army from 1925-26, and from 1943 to 1946.

He delivered sodas on a truck from Mobile to Biloxi. He moved to Biloxi MS in 1926, then took a job dynamiting tree stumps on Division St between Main and Lee St. During the work breaks he would go to Myers Grocery to buy cold drinks. This grocery was almost directly across the street from where Vera Lamey lived. He met Vera during one of these work breaks. They were married and moved to AL. After a short stay of a couple of months, they returned to Biloxi.
