Congress at work

What does Congress do?  Well Congress turn ideas, or bills into laws.  During each 2- year term of Congress, thousands of bills are introduced.  Out of those thousands few are turned into laws.  Congress spends much of its time listening to and trying to meet the demands of many groups.  One of the most important ways for Congress to respond to such demands is to pass new laws of change existing ones.
