The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster

This story follows a boy named Milo, a very bored young man who seems to take interest in nothing. Then, one day, a mysterious package arrives for him, and it turns out to be a tollbooth. Because there is nothing else to do, Milo sets it up and begins to play, only to discover that he is driving through an entirely different world. In his journey, he meets many interesting, humorous characters. It is a well-crafted, funny book, great for children and adults. I shall treasure this tale always.
