FALLING APART “You guys!” A feminine scream split through the quiet pounding of the waves. Jordan and Indiana slowly woke up, stretched, and rubbed their eyes. “Oh...hey Mel-Mel. Uhh what time is it?” Indiana said, stretching her arms behind her head. “12:10.” Raven said, hands on her hips. “What?!” Indiana and Jordan said in unison. “What about training?” Indiana followed up. Jordan grabbed her hand and pulled her along. “Come on! We’re really late!” They raced through the halls into the training room, where Crush, Adam, Chrysy, and Jason stood waiting. Indiana just then realized that she was still holding his hand. She pulled her hand away and blushed slightly. “Hey...where’s the blonde girl?” Jordan asked, looking around. “Cecelia has diabetes and special medicine. She doesn’t have it here, and she has been feeling very sick. Please let her take this session off to rest. She means everything to me, and if she ever got hurt...” Jason explained, looking at the ground. “I don’t care if she’s on her deathbed, she still has a responsibility to show up at...” Jordan started, but Indiana interrupted. “Of course she can miss this session if she’s unwell. We wouldn’t want to worsen her condition!” Indiana said. “In fact, why don’t you skip this session to visit her? I bet she’s lonely and scared.” “What do you think you’re doing? I’m the commander of this base and I can say...say what I...they...uhhh...” Jordan started yelling at Indiana, but she just smiled in return. “Allright. Go. This once.” “Hey thank you so much!” Jason said, then ran out at full speed in the direction of the bedrooms. “INDIANA!” Crush yelled from across the room. Indiana walked over. “Just what is going on between you and Jordan?” she asked, arching an eyebrow. “What? Nothing! Nothing at all! Why?” Indiana asked, smiling her best innocent smile. “Don’t lie to me Indy. I’ve been your best friend since second grade! I think I know how you look at a guy when you like him.” Crush crossed her arms. Indiana looked down. “NO SOCIALIZING DURING TRAINING!” Jordan yelled. “Well then, let’s get to training!” Indiana laughed, happy to change the subject. At dinner, Cecelia was sitting all alone at the end of the table. “Cece! I heard about...well I heard you weren’t feeling well. Are you feeling any better now?” Indiana asked. “No...” Cecelia said, her voice short of breath and raspy. Indiana was about to respond but Cecelia passed out cold in her hands. “Cecelia!” Indiana shrieked. “Somebody call 911! Get help!” Jason yelled from the other side of the table. “Cecelia!” He ran up to her, and began checking for a pulse and breathing. |
