DIMENSIONS 1o5
AWAKENING

Melody and Raven stood watching Indiana’s limp and unconscious form. Finally, the redhead stirred. She opened her eyes, yawned, stretched, but then winced at the sudden pain, and looked around.
“She’s awake Raven!” Melody cried happily. Raven came over to the bedside, relief clearly on her face, and handed a glass of lemonade to Indiana.
“Drink this.” Raven said, smiling.
“Thanks...um...where am I?” Indiana asked, looking around the dark green room and down at the bed she was sleeping in. “And uh...who’s clothes am I wearing?” she asked, noticing the red shirt designed with a yellow comet, and loose blue sweatpants.
“You’re in Jordan’s room. And those are some of Adam’s clothes.” Melody said, pouring herself a glass of lemonade from the pitcher on the bedside table.
“Jordan’s room? But why?” Indiana asked, sipping her lemonade gingerly. It hurt just to move her hand.
“Oh, honey, don’t you remember what happened last night?” Raven asked, a worried expression on her face.
“No...actually I don’t...” Indiana said. “Oh my god...did I overdose on wine and get freaky with Adam in Jordan’s bed?” she cried, suddenly disgusted and worried.
“No silly!” Melody laughed.
“Well, here’s what happened. Last night, at dinner, Kaylan (who is from the fantasy world – Dimension III) came to visit. She’s the daughter of the emperor of Dimension III, but somehow for some strange reason, she’s in love with Jordan. Anyway, she tried to kill you with a energy beam (people from Dimension III can do anything – that’s why they’re so dangerous)!” Raven explained.
“And then Jordan bravely risked his own life to save yours! He blocked her shot, although you were both sent flying across the room. But, it was very romantic on his part!” smiled Melody, drifting off into her own dreams.
“Jordan romantic? Now there’s a laugh!” Indiana said bluntly, and unamused.
“Actually I think he may like you!” Melody said.
“Please, Mel-Mel, I feel sick enough already!” Indiana said, sticking out her tongue like she was disgusted. “No really!” Melody insisted. “He carried you to his bedroom, and ordered that we get you changed into something more comfortable. Adam was closeby, and being the nice guy he is, he gave us some of his more comfortable clothes. I haven’t seen Jordan since. He probably went to Dimension III to settle matters with Kaylan’s father – although I do bet he will end up in a fight, that boy...”
“Well, I’m going to soak in a nice, looong bubble bath!” Indiana said, painfully getting out of Jordan’s bed. “Bye Raven! Bye Mel-Mel!”
“Now, where am I?” Indiana asked, looking around at the gray walls. She hadn’t been in this area before.
“Do you have permission to be here?” a boy with a scary pink mohawk asked. Indiana backed up, a little frightened of him.
“Uhh...hehe...well...” She stalled.
“Slash, it’s okay! She’s in the army!” Jordan said. He happened to be walking by at the right time to get Indiana out of trouble. Indiana rolled her eyes. He was the last person she wished to see, even if he did just save her skin.
“Right. Bye now!” she said, walking off and purposely ignoring Jordan. How dare that pervert put her in his bed, anyway! He probably wanted to get her while she was hurt, the jerk!
As Indiana slipped into a nice bubbly bath, she began to think.
“That jerk Jordan thinks that he’s so much cooler than everyone else just cause he can do a few push ups and talk to guys with mohawks. Well, somehow, I will show him just how wrong he is!” Indiana decided in her head.
The next day, Indiana was running late for training. Melody was making this very clear, yelling at her from the foot of the stairs.
“Indiana! You’re really late for your training!” she cried.
“I don’t care,” Indiana said, appearing clad in pigtails, a purple tank top, and black soccer shorts.
“Well Jordan is going to care! He really hates it when people are late!” Melody said, sounding almost afraid of the possibility of an upset Jordan.
“That jerk cares only about himself!” Indiana cried, clenching her fists, then letting them unclench as her eyes filled with tears. “Really I just want to go home.” she sniffed, then turned around and fled back up to her room sobbing.
“Oh...poor girl.” Melody sighed, staring at Indiana’s closed door.
“MELODY! WHERE IS THAT GIRL!?” Jordan cried, coming out of the training room, where Melody could hear the whines of other trainees.
“I don’t think she’s coming...” sighed Melody, afraid of what Jordan’s reaction would be. “Oh, but please let it go just this once! The poor girl’s homesick to tears!”
“Fine then.” Jordan said, and surprisingly turned back into the training room without demanding that Indiana show up. Melody watched, amazed that he’d let it go.
