DIMENSIONS 1.4
After a long re-energizing nap, I changed into the cutest outfit, a pink spaghetti strap tank and a green sarong with pink flowers on it (with pink spandex, of course). I made my way down and decided to talk to Bacardi, who was hanging out down there for who knows what reason.
“Bacardi, are you going to Suncharms?” I asked.
“I can’t. Jordan is training the elites an extra hour and it starts at nine thirty. Curfew has been suspended for a while. But I wouldn’t advise staying out longer, wake up call is the same time as always.” Bacardi said.
“Wow…do you think all the extra training is a result of that girl and Jordan breaking up?” I asked. I was sure it did, but I wanted to know her opinion.
“I guess. Cause Kaylan can be very dangerous when she’s mad, and her father, whoa you do not want to be around him when he’s angry.” Bacardi said. At that point, I noticed Jordan across the room talking to a blonde girl who was getting annoyed that he seemed to be ignoring her.
“Jordan?! Hello?!” She growled. He was staring at me. I blushed and avoided his eyes, but I heard him whisper to the girl, “She’s really pretty.”
“Hey Indy!” Melody yelled from the door. “Everyone’s here, let’s go!” I followed her out the door, and we walked for a couple blocks until we got to Suncharms, a really cool place on the beach with a bar and a dance floor in the sand. Amber and I had been talking, but as I went to order a virgin piña colada, she got held up by Slash, which I had found out by now, was notorious for his major flirting habits. He put his arm around her.
“Hey there.” He said. She stared at him.
“…hi.”
“Having fun tonight?”
“…yeah.”
“Amber! Watch out, Slash is a playa!” Melody popped over the wall behind the two of them. Slash’s eyebrows fell into a glare.
“MELODY!” He yelled.
“No kidding.” Amber rolled her eyes.
Meanwhile, I had met a guy named Rusty who was having a beer on the stool next to me. He was very interested in Jordan’s base.
“How’s Jordan’s recruit training?” Rusty asked.
“Tough.” I said, sighing as I sipped my drink. I was so sore, right now I would have to use all my energy to get off the stool.
“Yeah? I’m an elite from Starr Colinski’s base. I hear a lot about Jordan’s base.” Rusty said. “It’s all very impressive.”
“Hey Indy! Introduce me?” Topaz asked, coming up. She looked very nice, and I decided that she and Rusty would hit it off great.
“Topaz, this is Rusty.” I said, as Rusty took a swig of beer.
“Hi Rusty, I’m Topaz! How old are you? I am seventeen. Are you a trainee? I’m a recruit.” And she blabbered on like that for a while until I decided to leave them alone.
“Well…I think I’m going to…go away now…I have…well…you two have fun!” My excuse for leaving was not that great. But neither of them seemed to mind.
Clay was sitting alone drinking a bloody mary, so I decided to talk to him.
“What’s up Clay? You look kind of lonely.”
“You called it.”
“Miss your friends and family, huh? Me too. But we might as well try to have fun here, right? No use having a miserable time. Want to dance?” I asked. He got up and we started dancing. It was a gorgeous night and the sun had just set, casting shadows all over.
At that moment, he spun me and I smacked into a girl who’d been dancing with Joel. Upon closer look I found she was a very pretty, very tan dark blue haired girl with cat-like yellow eyes.
“Watch where you’re going, you klutz!” She growled at me. She sure was intimidating. Her muscles stood out perfectly toned.
“I’m so sorry…I hope I didn’t hurt you…” I said.
“Hurt me? You?” And then she laughed.
“Hildy, chill.” Melody rescued me. “Indiana, this is Jordan’s cousin, Hilda. She has her own base on the other side of the mountains.”
“Melody, can we have a ride home?” Jason interrupted, holding onto a faint looking Cecelia. I thought perhaps she had fallen and hit her head.
“You guys aren’t having any fun?” Melody asked, frowning.
“It’s not that. It’s just…Cecelia has diabetes, and she forgot to take her medicine.” Jason explained, as Cecelia groaned.
“I think maybe we should all go home. After all, we can’t stay out too late, or else we’ll all be dead tired tomorrow.” She said, and rounded up everyone, prying Topaz away from Rusty, breaking up Slash and Amber’s flirting, and the like. We made our way home and I fell asleep within minutes after I slipped into my bed.
The next day I woke, dressed, ate breakfast, and trained in almost a trance. I was so tired I guess I didn’t feel the pain the twenty laps caused my aching legs, or the constant weightlifting which wreaked havoc on my biceps and triceps. After class, Chrysy came up to me.
“Hey Indy, Mel wanted me to ask if you wanted to come to the beach after dinner.” Chrysy said.
“Sure. That sounds fun.” I said.
“Okay honey, see you at six thirty. Mel says a bunch of people will be there. I’m hoping to see Roy!” She waved as she left. I headed back to the room and took a long bubble bath, and got ready to go to dinner. After a great dinner, I changed and showed up on the beach in a cute strapless aqua swimsuit. Sitting on the sand waiting for people to show up, I basked in the warm glow of the sun which I had missed for so long. That’s when I saw Bacardi.
“Hey Bacardi!”
“Oh, hey Indy, what’s up? You seem to be adapting really well to Dimension 2. A lot better than what we expected. You seem like you’re even having fun. That’s great!” She smiled.
“Well yeah, I’ve decided to accept the fact that I’m here and I can’t do anything about it. Might as well have fun, huh?” I laughed. I did really wish I was back home, but as long as I was here I might as well make the best of it. My god, I’m turning into Crush.
“Wow, and it’s only been two days! I have to go now…you know, studying. But I’ll see you tomorrow.” She waved to me. I was surprised at how nice she was. When I first met her, she certainly didn’t seem too friendly. Maybe she just had to seem intimidating.
“Hey Indiana!” I heard a familiar voice but I couldn’t place it. I turned around and Clay was standing there. I smiled.
“Hi!”
“There’s a question I’ve been meaning to ask. Do you have a boyfriend right now?” He asked, not looking in the least embarrassed. I didn’t want to be mean to him, but I really didn’t want a boyfriend at the moment.
“No…not for a long time now. I guess you can say I’ve sworn off men.” He looked really sad at this. “…For now.” I added.
“Oh, well…changing the subject, I have found this great little cave along the beach a ways, with starfish, and corals, and stuff.” He said, smiling.
“That’s really cool!” I smiled.
“Yep.” He said.
Suddenly, right next to me a huge portal like the one Bacardi had formed when she sent me here appeared in the air. It scared me so much I jumped back. Jordan appeared from halfway across the beach and pushed people away from it.
“Stay back! Portals are always bad news!” Meaning that someone from Dimension 3 was coming. I wasn’t worried, Jordan’s back muscles were too distracting.
Kaylan appeared, in another very revealing outfit and her hair up in a ponytail. God, she was beautiful. I was so jealous.
“Jordan! I am so sorry! Please forgive me!” She grabbed his arm and pulled him towards her, but he shook her off.
“Kaylan, how many times do I have to tell you, I just…I can’t deal with…” He was interrupted when Kaylan once again threw herself onto him.
“But I love you! Doesn’t that mean anything?” She cried.
He pushed her off harshly.
“No. Don’t touch me.” He was being awfully mean, although I suspected that it was necessary for a girl like Kaylan to get the hint.
“Jordan, can’t we at least be friends? Over a year of our relationship and you’re just going to throw it away and forget about it?” She pleaded.
“Kaylan, as of now, I hope I never see you again.” He said. I gasped at this, and it brought tears to Kaylan’s eyes. She sobbed into her hands, then looked up and spoke.
“I know you don’t mean that. But one question. I thought you loved me Jordan! Don’t you?” She said, panting from her crying.
“Kaylan, I thought you’d realized by now, I don’t love anybody. And I want you to go. And if you come here again, I will tell your parents. And then the war will start.” He said. He was being awfully bold, and awfully stupid, in my opinion.
“Have it your way, then.” Kaylan growled, and disappeared as fast as she had appeared.
Jordan was about to walk away, looking satisfied. This made me so mad, I went against all of my inner voices telling me to stop before he got pissed, and called him a jerk. He spun around.
“What did you say?” He threatened me.
“I can’t believe you…that girl obviously loves you and you say you never want to see her again? You’re horrible!” I said. I was disgusted.
“You have no idea what pressures I am under running my base! I can’t have a relationship with the enemy.” He said, as if that justified it.
“You are a pigheaded fool and I hope you get what’s coming to you.” I spat, crossing my arms.
“What makes you think you can talk to me, a highly respected warrior and base leader, like that?” He said, looking partly amused and partly annoyed.
“Freedom of speech. I’m not afraid of you.” I said. That was about the biggest lie I had ever told.
“You should be.” He said, smirking, and he grabbed my wrists and pushed me back against the wall hard. It hurt and I was scared out of my mind but I wouldn’t let him see it. I glared right back at him. I think that just annoyed him more.
“Jordan! Let her go right now! What are you thinking?!” Raven yelled.
He let go of me and turned around, seemingly to think of an answer. “I dunno.” He said.
“How DARE you touch me!” I said, and I punched him in the head. I didn’t mean it to really hurt him but he obviously thought I did, because first he looked angry, and then he started laughing because he thought I’d been trying to hurt him. Then his face turned to stone and he produced energy from his hands and looked like he was about to release it on me, but luckily Raven put her arm around his shoulder.
“Jordan, honey. I think there’s a little thing you need to know. You’re not supposed to blow up people on your own team, okay? That may create a problem.” She said.
“JORDAN! You’ll never guess what…” Slash yelled, running up the beach from the base. He stopped by me and looked me up and down. “Oh hey Indiana…looking good…” He continued to Jordan. “Jordan! Mars is visiting next week!”
“Oh great. Now I have to clean up the whole base and train extra hard or else he’ll be on my back forever.” He groaned, rolling his eyes. Raven looked confused.
“Jordan, I thought you and Mars were tight.” She said.
“We are. But he’s still cocky about having the best base in Dimension 2.” Jordan said. Jordan seemed to have forgotten all about me, so I slipped a little farther behind him until Clay grabbed me and asked if I was okay. I told him I was.
In the meanwhile, Chrysy was lying on the sand next to Roy, flirting with him, and he was happily flirting back. Jason and Cecelia were relaxing by the waves, Cecelia obviously feeling better than she had at Suncharms the day before. Mikaela and Kyle were building sandcastles, and Crush was riding on Adam’s shoulders in the water. It seemed like everyone was hooking up. I felt strangely out of things. I felt better though when Melody, Amber, Topaz, and Beryl came by and started a conversation. Though meanwhile Chrysy was being totally embarrassed by her older brother, who had come by with Crush.
“Hey, Chrysy…who is this guy you’re always with?” He said, hands on hips, partly in a comical way but partly serious as well.
“He’s just a GUY Adam! Please don’t do this, you always do this! Please, Adam!” Chrysy begged, although she was glaring at him as if to dare him to.
“Just how old is this…GUY, Chrysanthemum?” He asked, using her whole name.
“GO AWAY!” She hissed. Roy looked amused.
“Well, I’m twenty two, but my birthday is in about a month.” Roy said. I was surprised. He was almost seven years older than Chrysy then. Usually she dated the sophomores at our old high school, this guy could be a senior in college, or even graduated!
“Here it comes…” Chrysy covered her eyes.
“Excuse me, but I do not like my baby sister having a boyfriend older than I am!” Adam lectured. Chrysy groaned and seemed to melt into her hands, Roy was looking like he was unsure what to do.
“Oh, poor Chrysy. Adam always did this to her back at home!” I laughed. Clay laughed too.
Slash was enjoying being surrounded by four beautiful elite girls, Jasmine, Thyme, Clover, and July, although at the time I didn’t know them.
“How come Slash always picks up every girl near him?” Raven asked Jordan. “He’s never had a real girlfriend, at least not for more than three days at a time.” She laughed, then pointed at Jordan with an accusing look on her face. “YOU should be the one with those elite girls, Jordan.”
“The last thing I need in my life right now is a girl. That’s part of why I broke up with Kaylan. I was thinking about it before but her confession was the last straw.” Jordan was surprisingly honest. I decided then that Jordan and Raven must have been really close.
I hung around Clay for a while. He kind of flirted with me, I wasn’t really into it. I didn’t want to lead him on, but I was so tired of boys. I left about forty five minutes later and took an early bedtime.
