Did you know?
At the turn of the century there were 100,000
Tigers and now there is less than 7,500 left.
There were 36 species of large cats and 8
subspecies until the 1950's. Now there are
less than 5 left. In India, it is estimated
that there is at least one Tiger killed every
day b poaching. Reported deaths by poachers
is estimated: 123 in 1994, 115 in 1995, 52
in 1996, 89 in 1997, and 36 in 1998. Note
that these numbers are only the deaths that
were reported, and how many actually go
unreported? Oh, by the way, did you know
that if you have a domestic house cat with
spots or stripes that they are descedents of
these beautiful animals???
