I am the Tigress and these are my
beautiful
Tigers. Such majestic creatures, but
they
face the realization of possible
extinction.
This site is to help give support to the
survival of these couragous animals.
The major dangers facing the Tiger is
poaching, habitat loss, and population
fragmentation. In poaching, the Tigers
are
killed and body parts are sold on the
Black
Market. Their hides, bones, whiskers,
teeth,
and tail are some parts that are sold
for a
great deal of money since poaching is
illegal. The Chinese used Tiger parts
in
medicine because they believe it holds
magical powers. Habitat loss is due to
ever
increasing human population,
uncontrollable
fires in dry climates, and illegal
logging.
Are they that different from us?
Yes, they walk on all four legs and
can't
speak our language, but does that give
them
less rights than you
and me? No, if anything, they need more
because they cannot speak for
themselves.
Tigers are very similar to you and me if
you
think about it. They have families
(children). They love and protect their
friends and family. The make sure their
family eats, grows, and stays healthy.
They
communicate with one another like we do,
but
in their own language. The Tiger is
very
close knit when it comes to family and
children, just like us. Who are we to
judge
who should live and who should die? Did
we
create these animals? Are we God? No,
so
why do we get to play the role of God?
How
would you feel if anybody told you that
you
were to be hunted and killed, just to be
sold
like a piece of furniture? You, your
family,
and your friends would fight for your
life,
so why can't we be a friend to our
fellow
animals and fight for them?
