Brian Dunkle says: To Quit Smoking, Do this: Starting tomorrow, or if you know how many cigarettes you have smoked already today... Take a piece of paper and make a sort of calendar with your starting day be the start of your week. For every cigarette you smoke that day, put a mark on your paper under that day. Do this every day until you come again to your starting day of the week. On this day you will do the same as before, recording the cigarettes you smoke, but you will be smoking one less cigarette than last week. Keep doing this every week until you get to zero cigarettes. You can change this plan to fit you. If the number of cigarettes are different for each day, and you want them to all be the same so all the days get to zero on the same week, you can keep the number of cigarettes the same as last week on a particular day until the other days catch up. Or you can make the number of cigarettes you smoked on your starting day, be the limit for each day for the rest of the week. Whatever you want, your in control now. Before it comes time to fight the urge to smoke over your limit...during the day before you light up, wait five minutes or so before you smoke and as the weeks progress, increase the time you wait before you smoke. That time will add up and give you less time at the end of the day to go over your limit. Last of all...if your looking to quit faster, and you feel you have the will power. Take a piece of paper, put on it tomorrow's date, or if you know how many cigarettes you have smoked today, put today's date. And under it put a mark for every cigarette you smoke on that day. Then the next day you will do the same but will smoke one less. And keep doing the same every day until you reach zero or you decide...I'm done, I smoke no more! Before you go on to the rules of smoking, try to be smoke free for at least a year after you have quit. It can be more or less time, as long as you are in control. You don't have to ever smoke again, but if you do like to smoke...follow the rules. Rules of Smoking 1. Don't smoke every day. 2. Buy the good stuff. 3. Limit yourself. These rules are my opinions, but they work for me... REMEMBER: to keep from getting into the habit of smoking, you must control and limit your smoking from the start or starting right now.
