Mathematical Quilt Gallery

These quilts were made for my Geometry classes. I used and modified patterns from "Mathematical Quilts" by Venters and Ellison and "Op-Art Quilts" by Marilyn Doheney.

Behold! Pythagoras Proven

This quilt is a diagram of a proof for Pythagoras' Theorem in Geometry. The center square is 1 inch; the triangles have sides of 3 in., 4 in., and 5 in.

Fibonacci Illusions

The strip size in this quilt was determined by using the Fibonacci Series (1,1,2,3,5,8,13...) and dividing each term by 4.

Snail's Trail--a logarithmic spiral

A traditional quilt block which has definite mathematical interpretation.
