The French Cropper

Since Frank Barrachina wrote his book "Profiles in Pouters" almost 20 years ago the elegant French Cropper has undergone many great changes that have been made to the breed through the hard work and dedication of it' European enthusiasts. No longer is the French a thick, squatty breed The French is an elegant, upright bird with a remarkable resemblance to a large brunner cropper. The slim boned, long legged elegance of this beatiful bird convinced me to import blacks from my good friend Dr Schingen of Germany this year. Now for me, the greatest wait is to have the birds out of quarantine and in my loft. Once they are in my loft I will post photos on this site of these magnificent birds for you to all enjoy on my personal webpage. The following article was taken, with permission, from the 1996 French Kropfer yearbook and translated by Thomas Hellman.
