This web page was made by Travis Pike and Andy Bailey for our freshmen english class at NS-RF High School in Nora Springs Iowa. For our Extra Credit we decided to compare Roy Hobbs to Ken Griffey Jr. Both Ken Griffey and Roy Hobbs were outstanding major league baseball players, especially good hitters. Last year, while playing hurt, Ken Griffey Jr. batted .284 he also hit a amzaing 56 Home Runs and Drove in 146 RBI's. Ken also recieved a gold glove for his great feilding. Ken was also voted to the all star game. Besides being a great fielder Ken is very fast as shown last year as he stoled 20 Bases. We couldn't find any stats on Roy, but from what we saw in the movie Roy Hobbs played just like Ken Griffey Jr, and as far as we can see both men care a lot about the game.
