Dear Geraldo,

Enclosed is an interesting story, if you might be interested please let me

know. Also, please see attachment.

Thanks.

An Innocent Man:

Wrongfully Convicted to Death Row for 21 Years and

Counting.

Paul William Scott is an innocent man now in his 21st year on Florida's

death row. Like so many others he was convicted for a crime he could not

have committed. We have conclusive proof of his innocence, but Florida has

killed innocent men in the past and will undoubtedly do it again.

The prosecutor in Scott's case wrapped his argument around hidden evidence,

deception and lies (a common practice). His star witness has since fully

and totally recanted and every juror except one has signed sworn affidavits

acknowledging they were simply "duped" in this trial, after learning the

truth.

Parishioners of the St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Father Edward McElduff,

Professor Charles Rice of the University of Notre Dame Law School, at least

two Catholic Bishops and Sister Helen Prejean (Dead Man Walking, New York:

Random House, 1995) all agree: Paul William Scott is innocent.

Experts in pathology and DNA testing are willing to donate their time and

talent to prove this indigent borderline retarded man's innocence. But, we

are told, Palm Beach County cannot locate the blood or the evidence in Paul

Scott's case. Scott simply had "too many tattoos" an investigator for the

Palm Beach County public defender's office told Pauley early into this sham

of a trial.

The actual murderer in this case has since confessed. Paul had left the

house where the murder took place fully 3½ hours before the crime was

committed. Yet the prosecutor of these more than 20 years still follows

Paul to his every hearing, every trial, every appeal and he repeats his

20-year old ruse to the courts. Why?

The killer's parents had $45,000 for the system to plea-bargain for their

son's life. Might this have had something to do with Paul Scott's

conviction? Could this be the reason the actual murder weapon-an unopened

bottle of Dom Perignon champagne-mysteriously disappeared from Scott's

courtroom?

What politics, power and money do to corrupt our system of justice boggles

the mind. The fact remains: Paul William Scott is absolutely, honestly and

obviously innocent and must be freed!
