John Abrams, born 1788 died 1860
I've seen the originals of this "portrait". It appears to be a charcoal drawing. I guess it dates 1840-45. The water stain in upper left
corner is said to have happened in the migration of Ohio to Iowa in 1845.

According to one family tradition John was member of the Masons and was a
Presbyterian
He was first to vote in 1848 Jefferson Co, IA Democratic primary in
Round Prairie, Twp
Andrew Abrams, his son,was the second.
A deed is listed in Licking Co, Ohio for John Abrams in 1812
