The above are Russian designed MiG-29 Fulcrums. I used to be a bit of a trainspotter when it came to fighter planes - knew everything about them - still do I suppose ............. My theory though is that fighters are going to get uglier and uglier from now on. They're not designed for speed any more - the main consideration is Radar stealthiness, which means they have to look ugly. The F-22 Raptor for example is the most advanced combat plane in the world at the moment, and its a monument to ugliness from most angles. The Su-27 Flanker - again from Russia is the sexiest plane in my opinion, but I'm too lazy to dig a decent picture out of the web. Maybe some day.

Fascinating Links.

These are links to some of the websites I've found that I've enjoyed.

Jamie Zawinski is one of the people who first made Netscape Navigator, Don't worry though his webpage is completely non-technical and bears very few references to his work. have a look at his Output page - Very interesting offbeat stuff.

Zug - Very good for a laugh.

Another cool site here, although rather specialised.

My present housemates - John and Fergal are musicians - well they claim to be anyway. Anyone who has heard them 'play' might think otherwise. Anyway here's their very funny website

Cringleys World features a weekly editorial on a computer topic of his choice which is worth reading.

And of course no computer website listing would be complete without Slashdot. A good way of keeping daily track of what's happening and what's not.

In The Beginning Was The Command Line is a brilliant essay on the evolution of computer software to the state its in today.

Stephen Gibson is a computer security consultant who has some good stuff on his webpage. If you're at all into internet security you'll find his description of a Denial Of Service attack on his website, and his countermeasures, very interesting reading .............

I've loads of links to programming sites - particularly graphics programming as that's what I do at work, but I can't be bothered putting them up here. If anyone wants them they can mail me here and I'll pass them on.
